EA Sports is terrible. Tiger Woods Demo is terrible.

Sony needs to release NFL/Golf/ETC from EA.

I played the Tiger Woods Demo. Granted I am not the biggest fan ever of golf, But I Figured it was worth a shot.

The game is 100% terrible. For a Golf game, which is such a simple game setup. The game is done completely half assed. As with all EA games the eye of importance is never on the game itself, but all the BS features you can do with the players...

Major flaws in this game are unacceptable. Its not so much the gameplay, but the lack of detail. 1 Major issue that stood out to me is when you reposition Tiger. He just glides from SIDE to side. Really EA, How hard would it be to make the character turn as well as take a couple of BASIC steps from Side to side. The Maps are lacking detail, the trees are pathetic, as with the water. ITS A GOLF GAME. There is no reason that there shouldn't be completely detailed trees/grass/water. The only thing to process is a golf course, trees, water, and crowd.

Tigers detail is bland. the motion capture data was not ironed out and you can watch Kinks in the animation walk cycles. Again these things are all 100% basic, but they take me out of the game every single time I see them. It happens ALLL THE TIME with EA's titles. The games show that EA doesn't have any competition. Yes you can still play the game, and perhaps enjoy it. But why? Why do I have to overlook these things in a game that I paid 60.00 for? Why do I have to make excuses for why EA doesn't feel the need to add a gaming experience to their titles?

Still frames of this game are great, and Im sure all of the new fangled "Live like Tiger" Online play, or whatever the hell EA has conjured up will be plenty time consuming. But what about the GOLF? The controls are Great.. the games art design is just a big mistake. Whoever worked on this games animation/map detail should be fired.

Yea, I don't play sports games... tried playing it, and somehow got bored after just taking one shot...

And actually I'll have to disagree with the whole "EA sports is lazy" thing, simply because putting out a fully functioning game EVERY YEAR on every single platform imaginable is anything but lazy. I will say that they are incredibly unimaginative and under-ambitious though.

Anyone else have to play the demo in 480p? The jaggies were unbelievably terrible for me. Like I could probably count the number of jaggies there were around his head from two rooms away (which means they were HUGE and noticeable and i'd never seen game graphics with jaggies that bad since I played a PS1 game).

And also... I'm really only responding to this topic to see what my sig looks like, to tell you the truth. :D
