Like just normal CDs? Yeah you can also rip 'em to your HDD if you want. I did when I first got mine so I could listen to some tunes when games like Burnout and Warhawk would get XMB support.

I did not want to damage my console by putting a cd that may or may not read.

You're afraid to put a ten dollar music cd in your PS3, but you'll put a 60 dollar game in there. How does that make sense?brokenfetus

Mate it wont be damaged by putting the disc in there. You can stick a 360 game in there for all you care, all that will happen is that it will not read the game, simple as that.mohmaaytah
