EB Trade Value

Did anybody trade their PS2 in at EB recently? If so could you tell me how much they gave you? I posted this in the PS3 forums because I figured many people traded their PS2 in to get a PS3. My EB has a promotion where you can trade a PS2 and 3 games worth $8 or more to get $100 off the price of the PS3. Unfortunately I don't have 3 games that are worth $8 or more at EB. So I'll probably just trade in the PS2 by itself depending on how much they give for it.

P.S. The reason I'm asking here is because I called and they told me to bring it in and I don't want to go there with my system if its not even worth the trip.

I wouldnt trade my ps2 in for a ps3 if that's what you were thinking.. atleast not if you want to play your old ps2 games.. first of all, the ps3 isnt compatible with all ps2 games yet, and afaik, you can't save your status on ps2 games on the ps3...(correct me if I'm wrong)ejstrup

Well thats what I was thinking. Although the only games I wanna keep are GOW and GOW2. I thought you could save status onto the hardrive.

I wouldnt trade my ps2 in for a ps3 if that's what you were thinking.. atleast not if you want to play your old ps2 games.. first of all, the ps3 isnt compatible with all ps2 games yet, and afaik, you can't save your status on ps2 games on the ps3...(correct me if I'm wrong)ejstrup

The current trade in value fluctuates between $25-35 for the PS2. The value is usually $5 less if it is the original model vs. the slim model.Velric

Like almost a year ago I traded in my PS2, network adapter, eye toy, like 5 controllers, mulitap, like 40-50 games and some other accesories probably... And I got nearly $300 bucks. Ofcourse they were having a special that gave more for PS2 games at the time and also before that I calculated to see how much everything was worth and I got like $700 or something... I traded it in for a Xbox 360 and then I just sold that to somebody and bought a PS3 (by the way the PS3 is way better). So yeah, it's a rip off. I would try to sell it on Ebay maybe.
