Just got my PS3 a few days ago. I typically press the PS button to "Quit" and game and exit to the dashboard before I eject the disk. However, tonight with MGS4, I ejected the disk on the menu screen before pressing the PS button and quitting the game. Nothing happened. But here is the question:

Is it ok to eject the disk before pressing the PS button to "Quit" (assuming the game is NOT saving or loading data)?

Thanks.

I haven't had any problems with that yet, eventhough I do that by mistake most of the time, I would say no ejecting before actually quitting hasn't done anything harmful to my PS3 so I say not. It's not like PS2 when you hit the eject button and the game still rolls on, PS3 will automatically cut the game if you eject before quitting.

I haven't tried it, but it doesn't do the disc any favours. Just continue to press the PS button then quit game. After that I take the disc out.
