Ejecting UMD

I have a Fat PSP. After I exit to the XMB and I eject the UMD I hear a spinning noise like the UMD is still spinning is this a normal noise while ejecting UMD's? Why would the UMD still be spinning after I exit the game?

completly normal, think about it, if it is spinning the umd, when u suddenly open it, do u expect it to be completly still?

You would think the disk would stop spinnig after you exit the game.
