Just beat enslaved oddysey to the west and have to say i was totally underwhelmed. It seemed like there was 3 different games they ripped off and threw in together such as infamous uncharted and ico. The character art in the 3 characters and robots was really good but the levels looked horrible. I also had a horrible time with the framerate dropping drastically. The last fight was good and made me wish the rest of the game was the same. I dont want to spoil anything but the ending was just awful. I wouldnt recommend this to any. Did anyone like this game or do you agree it was not very good

I thought it was very good.

Characters are amazing.

Story is good.

Gameplay is fun.

Sound is good.

Visuals are good.

I dont know where you drew your infamous reference from, and the only thing Uncharted and Enslaved have in common are climbing and third person.

... I really liked the demo. I'm sure there's %15 worth of game on the disc.

they angsty main character and the climbing felt more infamous to me. and uncharted 2 due to it trying to be all movie style. I thought the gameplay was boring and good have been alot better i mean the guy has a staff and it only really shoots and hes only got like a handful of moves plus i thought the controls were horrible but that was mostly due to the crappy camera

Enslaved is a completely shallow and predictable experience. Not a bad one and it will certainly appeal to a lot of people but as far as I am concerned the game has absolutely no redeemable qualities. It's a totally 'by the numbers' title, the devs just got together and took the best parts of other amazing titles and tried to staple them together for this game, suffice to say it definitely didn't work. And the ending made me want to barf, it was unexpected but for all the wrong reasons. I am glad it didn't sell well because as a game it's awful but as a tool to educate children under the age of 5 it's pretty good, I mean it feels like a title meant to wean kids into proper titles that actually have something to offer.

I don't get that feeling about ripping off other games, but I agree about the ending. They took my "best characters in worst game" award with that game.

I enjoyed it. It had great characters, beautiful environments and a pretty good story. The level design was very good too. I didn't like all those stupid orbs you had to collect - instead of concentrating on the gameplay and the overall experience of the game, I was spending all my time searching every corner of every room. And the camera was terrible - wish I had a dollar for every time I missed somebody with an attack by 180 degrees because the stupid camera decided to swing around at that exact moment. But I thought the good far outweighed the bad.

Enslaved is actually quite good despite being very short. I enjoyed it a lot. The story and characters were great, and the gameplay was pretty solid.

I thought the game was pretty damn good. For sure one of the best games released last year. You of course have a right to disagree, but it was hardly boring.

It also was hardly ugly. Yes the whole running through the ruined city was nothing special, but there were some really pretty views in the game. Places like the area where you are working to pull down the sails on the windmill. Did you ever take a few minutes to just look out at the view?

You really can't say it is ripping off Uncharted (Tomb Raider / Indiana Jones), or Infamous (Static Shock) when they themselves are ripping off other games/movies. Plus I can sort of see the Uncharted exploration aspect, but where do you get InFamous? Because Monkey climbs on stuff? That's been done many times before InFamous.

This game is far from overrated. The game is a good game. Awesome characters and a very beautiful game to look at. If you're comparing it's story to the story it's based on then that's you're own thing. Many people don't know the original story so don't put that as a negative.

I haven't even played a demo of Enslaved yet, but it does look interesting. I love originality, butI don't think there is anything wrong with taking great elements from great games and implementing them in others (just leave the bad aspects out and it's fine right?) I'll probably pick this up in the future though.

After several hours in, it's a fun game. A bit rough around the edges, but I like the characters as much as I liked "Uncharted" as a story...

Yeah there is nothing wrong with implementing ideas from other games but that should not be enough in this day and age, a game needs to excel if it's going to re-use elements from great games. Take Uncharted for example the game isn't exactly original but takes ideas from other games and pushes it to the next level, creating a new benchmark. Enslaved on the other hand is a very lazy title, it doesn't push any envelope and instead it back tracks to becomes a very shallow experience. Worth a rent, definitely not a buy.

Having enjoyed Heavenly Sword, I was somewhat hyped for playing enslaved. I felt the first half of the game, the characters, the story and heck the gameplay was decent enough. But the second half turned me off. Once pigsy was introduced, the characters and story seemed to focus more on being funny than being anything substantial. The ending (and the part near the end about the slave band thing) was just the icing on the cake..in a negative way. Gameplay wasn't great either. It's been awhile, but I remember a lot of recycled enemies. I especially remember fighting that dog-boss thing way too many times.

So not so great a game, but from reviews and personal experience, I expected more. Honestly I wonder how a game like enslaved can review better than nier.

It's good. With a little more polish on the gameplay it could have been great. The characters and story were fantastic, especially the natural feeling evolution between Monkey and Trish. The story was the highlight of the game, and the motion capture and scripting was really great for a game. The ending is a little misplaced feeling, but it at least asks a question and leaves the player with an open ending they're left to decide with (pretty much something that's never happened in game).

I'm glad there are other people who weren't impressed by Enslaved. I was beginning to feel like I was the only one. This is actually a game I thought I would like when I first heard about it, but it turned out to be something that was predictable and akin to a household chore by the end. It took the majority of it's elements from other games and failed to match them in quality. The platforming was especially linear and uninvolved, as was the combat. I didn't enjoy the characters AT ALL, especially Trip who I felt to be exceedingly annoying. The story was retarded and the ending felt like it was concocted by a child who had just seen The Matrix Revolutions. It may seem like I'm being overly critical here so I do have one positive thing to say about it which is that the art was nice. Can't recommend it based on art alone though...

i enjoyed it, but thats because i rented it. I dont think it was worth the 60 bones when it first released, that being said at gamestop their selling it for 20 bucks now which i think you cant go wrong with and i also heard there was dlc with extra levels or something so that is always a plus in my book.

I really didn't like it, graphics were the lighting kept the game loooking good otherwise the textures would have looked awful, lots of tearing and frame rate drops and the character models are weird some times, the platforming feels Auto lol, the gameplay is repetetive but the story was good and better than most games.

I'll pick it up from Amazon once it hits the $10 mark. Not because I'm excessively frugal or anything (well, I am frugal), but because it's a short game (from what I hear) and it's at the bottom of my wish-list.

yea, it was meh. which sucks cause i had high hopes for it. thought heavenly sword was a much, much better game than this. the characters and story really pull you in at the beginning. but by the halfway point, you just want pigsy to shut up, to stop mashing the same button in combat, and for the game to end.

it really did have potential to be better though. i didnt have screen tearing like others are saying, but the camera did give me lotsa problems. its a good rainy day rental for those who havent gotten to it yet though.

The worst automated platforming I have ever played in any platformer, competent but unremarkable combat, simple boss encounters, cliche cast of characters with good VA and a decent script. Ending confrontation did not feel powerful or emotional, in my eyes, taking way too much from a certain other flim. A whole host of other issues I will spare you the details with, I simply wasn't engaged/roped in on my first and subsequent playthroughs of the game, I was disappointed as I was expecting something from this game, I couldn't get into it.

Alongside AC1, Enslaved was one of my most regretted purchases for a video game, ever. Furthur affirmation that the 'revamped' DMC is most likely going to be terrible.
