am I the only one who think enslaved is so bad in terms of graphics? Ninja Theory is very lazy this time, in many cutscene and missions, they have very poor terrain detail, such as motorcycle scene and when they drove big machine to pramid. When I played heavenly sword, I never see those cheap cutscene or background in game. Heavenly sowrd look much more polish appearently.

Gameplay wise, they did simplfy combat system this time, but it's still not fun at all, especially enslaved's platforming is terrible.

I still have Heavenly Sword in my sweet collection :D But i haven't played Enslaved yet, so can't say anything for it.

As for Heavenly Sword i found it to be really good, but far too short. I would love a sequel though.

It's because they used a different engine, the Unreal. I agree HS looks better and that UE games are pretty ugly. Only games I didn't mind it was Batman AA and of course, Gears.

I still reckon Heavenly Sword is the best looking game this gen apart from Crysis and UC2.

God of War III looks miles better than Heavenly Sword. But OT - yes, Enslaved seems like a step down visually. I don't know why they chose to go with the Unreal Engine.

heavenly sword was developed for ps3 only, whereas enslaved is developed for multiplatform, that only explains the difference... :)

Hmm, play as a monkey like weirdo or a badass red head chick.

Such a hard decision :P.

Trip in Enslaved looks like a cheap imitation of Heavenly sword's Nariko. Nariko had far more detail in both cut sceens and in game sequences. I can't help but think how much better Enlaved could have looked if it was exclusively designed for the PS3's hardware like Heavenly sword was. Often the screen shots of Heavenly sword don't do the game justice. Heavenly sword looks far better on my TV and PS3 set up, having said that I do set my HDMI to full as your suppossed to unlike much of the PS3 screen shots used in console comparisons that are shown online.

first of all, this thread is quite old, secondly, enslaved is a multiplatform game, whereas heavenly sword is a ps3 exclusive... :)

I wouldn't rate it as the best looking but damn, the cutscenes were absolutely gorgeous what with all the detailed facial expressions and such. Anyway, I agree that Enslaved was a step down visually (except for Trip's eyes, gosh I love the way they did her eyes). I kind wish they'd work on a new IP instead of Devil May Cry though, their strong points lie in art direction and story (for me, anyway), not deep gameplay and such.

I thought they both looked stunning and was amazed by Heavenly Sword's characters. Sometimes it felt like I was watching a movie during the cutscenes because of the terrific animation and voice acting, which was amazing in both games by the way. If I were to say which game left a longer lasting impression, I would say heavenly sword. Great games.

I have to agree, Heavenly Sword was short but polished. It still looks phenomenal and at one time it was a show to your friends what PS3 can pull off visually. ;)

It's a great game, other then being too short. I hope we see one day then second game. Nariko is a memorable character that deserves prequel or sequel.
