I just beat AC2 and first off i got say how incredible that game is. Well i dont know about any of you, but i am getting a strong feeling that AC3 will take place in real time with Desmond as the Assassin ( the alien women speaking through Ezio directly to Desmond basically gives it way IMO ). Any thoughts on that?

That ending with you fighting the people in the warehouse and that woman speaking directly to you, pretty much lets you know we will be playing as Desmond in the 3rd game.

I somehow don't think so. i think the next one will probably be most likely set sometime in the past. If i had to take a shot i'd say maybe the American Revolution?

but i was pretty blown by the big reveal at the end. would really like to learn more about this past and we probably will learn more in the next game.

I agree that could very well be what happens, imagine the assassins on the run in a van with Desmond in the animus and the templars chasing close behind lol. The only reason i think otherwise is that i feel the assassins have gained the knowledge they have been looking for.....idk

Then what was the point in giving Desmond the blade? This series is set as a trilogy and they set it up perfectly for Desmond to finish it.

It could start out with Desmond in the animus and you finishing up a small memory while you're escaping the templars. Then they could transition to Desmond in current day fighting abstergo.

There may be more to this than we know. I just read an article that says while the series was a planned trilogy, Ubisoft has a larger focus. The games director says that they can make an infinite number of these games. I also read some idea's such as having a female lead in WWII era, setting it in feudal Japan, or having it somewhere in the Middle Ages.

Im thinking they should finish Desmonds story, solidifying his place in the creed therefore giving space for a new project ( human ) to place in the Animus.

OR maybe whole thing was animus, with a decendant of Desmund following the footsteps of Desmund that would be awesome I personally want to see French Revolution tho, I don't really want to play modern day assassin

what i felt like after all that was this sort of flowering happening. in AC1 virtually every important event occurs in the Animus, in AC2 some major plot points occur in the beginning and at the end, even when Desmond is starting to feel the effects of the bleeding effects. However they still don't REALLY know what they should be looking out for. ergo the use of the Animus again. What i'm expecting... really. is the game to big maybe a bit longer, as the big finale of the trilogy. with the game taking place - wherever - in the Animus, trying to figure out what needs to be done to stop whatever major event that is coming from happening. Near the end of the story, once whatever it is you've needed has been obtained you'll play the role of the Assassin in modern day, helping out your fellow Assassin's as you try and save the world. the problem that comes with being an Assassin in the modern day is very simple. it's three letters. GUN. the hidden blade, the most iconic weapon of the game is rendered nothing when put against a guy with a 50 cal sniper rifle from some roof top. So i'd totally expect there to be some sort of night - stealth mission that caps off the trilogy and the avert the event.

Holy crap, that's exactly the theory I came up with :| Personally, I think they've made way too many clues and hints to other descendants to ditch the whole concept of going back in time via memories. But yeah, the whole thing being an Animus simulation in the future would be an amazing twist.

Grand intellectuals process information at similar rates, funsohng. The element of astonishment has long past expired.
