err ign rated gta 10 for graphics? poll included

we got to play it. you need a high end PC to run crysis and i think the ps3 doens't match up. maybe for console graphics its a 10 for whats out their on a console.

dont get me wrong gta graphics are nice .. but to say they are they same quality like crysis (as it also got a 10 ) ...i can think of heaps of games which are better looking then gta4 and yet got a lower score... anyway rate what u think it

When you take into account how big this game is, how detailed it is, the physics at work, the weather and day/night cycles, and all what this game has to show on the screen at once, I'm sure this game should get a 10.

Of course, I don't have it yet, but the vids I've seen convince me of this. I can't imagine how amazing it will look when I'm actually playing it.

Yes exactly.

Its not like GTA4 is a confined FPS as COD4 is - so they can't focus as much on a little leaf or pebble on the street. So for being such a huge game, it looks amazing.

Dude are you serious i mean all the content it has it would make it pretty ridiculously hard and expensive not to mention the file size of the game. Its a 10 because its pretty much impossible right now to have a game of its size(on a console) with graphics up to par with console best looking Gears, UT3, COD4, and Uncharted. We as gamers need to stop being Graphic whores and stop giving in to corporations selling a game thats makes us go "OOOOO.....Aaaahhhhhh" at the looks rather than makes us OOOO and Aaaahhhhh at the gameplay and story.

yeah the score seems to be more relative to GTA and the GTA like games its looks good but not a 10, i'd say around a 9. graphic score should be about graphics not graphics relative to everything else at least in my opinion, then again i don't really care about reviews they're useless for anythign other then letting u know whats in the game.

also its IGN who really takes them seriously anyways they're pretty black and white when it comes to reviews and really don't give much of an explanation to validate there score.

wow people talk crap on the graphics but dont realize how hard it is to run and devlop everything in that huge city... without load times at that....

I give the graphics 9-10 great job rockstar pulling it off in this ammount of time to.

That's comparing GTA4's graphics to GTA3/ VC/ SA ... the graphics have really improved and i feel their at the point now where improvments made will only be little things ...

Obviously PS3 / 360 are capable of better graphics but you also have to consider the size of GTA4 ...choasgod

I went with 10. Evidently, the environments and characters are all highly detailed and run at a stable framerate, with minimal screen tear etc. There aren't many games that can boast a massive environment AND unobtrusive stability issues. GTA4 will rock, with a star.......

This is why a review should never be taken serious. If there is something better in graphics, ie: Uncharted or Gears, then how can this score 10 with a clearly poorer graphics?.

I always thought that there should be 2 kinds of scores. An Accomplishments list scoring realistically the game, and a Reviewers score.

Lets say I make the best game in world, but it uses SNES graphics and its a PS3 or 360 game. The price for the game is also 60 bucks and only in retailers. Now, when you play the game, you know its the best game ever, but how can you give it a 10 if you are limited by a graphics score? Simply, just give it a 10 too. Thus, that score is farfetched and not realistic to what the game actual graphics are worth in terms of score.

GTAIV, experience aside, has some of the worst graphics this gen, as well as character movements. Its easy, just compare its graphics to Uncharted or Gears, and the movement of the characters to those in Uncharted and Heavenly Sword and you can realise its way inferior. Yet, the game other aspects compensate it. Great story, gameplay, world, etc.

For example, lets take the DS as our console of reviews. Now lets take 4 games as candidates to graphic scores. Lets say:

Pokemon Diamond

Final Fantasy III

Zelda: PH

Apollo: Ace attourney

Now, all of those games did fairly well, but, be honest, would you score Pokemon and Ace close to FF and Zelda after the amazing graphics they pulled? The honest answer should be no. The scores should denote advancements, improvements over other games, or in the lack of it, stale so they should get similar scores.

Now, dont get on your Flaming Arrows yet. Im a GTA fan, and Ive already ordered it. I know that in this game, its not about graphics, but it kinds of pisses me that other games, that are graphically superior end up getting lower scores than games that are sub par when it comes to graphics.

Blah blah, all that ranting aside, lets enjoy some matches online once we all have it and lets bring Liberty City down baby!
