That number looks familiar, sounds like its dealing with your online capabilities? I usually get that error, about 50% or more times when I turn on my PS3. But, it usually either solves itself or I just try to sign manually.

this looks familiar too. i used to manually have to switch my ethernet cables between my pc and ps3 to my modem since i have no router. if i didnt reset my modem by powering it off and back on before the ps3 connected id get this.

Yeah I had that problem too. What I did is I got a hold of my security key(WEP), DNS, and what not, wrote it all down, manually put it in and it solved it. Since then, no problems except if it's dsl service itself.

Go to SETTINGS> NETWORK SETTINGS> then go to CUSTOM> WIRELESS OR WIERD> ENTER MANUALLY> IP ADRESS AUTOMATIC> DHCP DO NOT SET> DNS AUTOMATIC> MTU AUTOMATIC > PROXY SERVER DO NOT USE > UPnP DISABLE > SAVE SETTINGS. if it then dosent sign you in straight away turn your ps3 off for a couple of minutes then turn it back on. this always seems to work for me :)

The other day after I bought NBA 2K11, inserted it and installed the update, I got this error when the system restarted, and now it happens more often than not. I've had my ps3 for years, it's an original 60gig one, and never had this problem before, I researched it and some people were saying it was because some f@990t hacker called Anon or Anonymous hacked into PSN, and now we all have to suffer for it. Is that true?

A lot of us have been getting the error, a lot of others aren't. Sometimes i can log in, other times i can't. Sony is working on it.
