I'm planning to buy couple of european games "lil big planet". I know vita is region free but my question is what if there were updates to the game? DLCs? can I get them no problem from my american psn account? thanks guys.

As most DLC is region locked, you would need to download them using an EU account. However, due to the Vita only allowing one PSN account per system you wouldn't be able to access them using your US account.

You won't be able to get DLCs for sure since they're region specific.

Thank ya guys. that's a bummer. what's the use of being region free then? well I guess I should stick to U.S games. I would assume the updates follow the same pattern with DLCs? region specific?

while you at it I wanted to add another question . if I get a subscription into PS plus directely from PSN , is it obligatory to provide billing address info and whatnot? cuz as some of you might know I got 3 months sub from amazon but I couldn't use them cuz they required credit card and U.S. billing address info.
by the way if any of you would like to try PS plus and lives in U.S. lemme know. if I can't use them I will let someone else enjoy them.

Being region-free means that you could buy a game from Europe (either in stores or imported online) and play it on your US Vita. Same goes for Asian/Japanese games, if you so wished to import them. You can't do the same for PSN games, unfortunately...

If you were to get PS+ via the PSN store, then you are more than likely have to provide your credit card information. I know you can buy the PS+ Subscription cards where you just enter the code into the PSN store.

Just gotta ask, with Vita, is it still possible to "unlock"/switch accounts by hooking it up to the PS3? If you had an EU account with EU games on the PS3 and hooked up the PSP, you could switch the PSP to EU and when you wanted to play US, you did the same but with US games.
