With the PS3 now selling with 120GB of Hard disk space, I would think that this would be more likely since people could fit the 6GB on their HDD comfortably.

No, because Sony doesn't even make backwards compatible PS3s anymore. Only the people with older models would even be able to play the games.

They first have to design software to emulate the emotion engine. Then we can think about this.

I only see them doing it if they can make enough money out of it...which would be hard. Current ps3s are not backwards compatible, so they would have to take the Microsoft route and do software emulation for each game they put up on psn. This clearly did not return enough profit in microsoft's eyes, but then there is also the fact that there were not as many high caliber xbox games as ps2 games...So possibly for a few games sony could make enough money to actually go through the trouble but it really does seem unlikely, especially with PS2 support still happening. It would be nice though for those hard to find games like Ico...

What a question, eh? Just buy a damn PlayStation 2. You know, the one that plays 110% of all your PS2 and PSone titles?

I OWN a PS2 a BC 80gig PS3 and a PS3 Slim... I'm in no way PS2-less. it's a simple question. There are some games out there that are PS2 games that people want to play and just CAN'T FIND. it would be good if Sony made a PS2 store like the PSone classics. Now that most people have 80-160gig HDs in their PS3, or like me upgraded their HD, this isn't much to ask for.

I think it will happen eventually, but not till the ps2 sale drop even more. So maybe in a few years.

It's actually a lot to ask for, considering that they'd have to either code each game individually to run on PS3, since new models wouldn't be able to emulate the games in their original form, or bring back backwards compatibility altogether.

I'm pretty sure it will happen. It would be a big mistake on Sony's part not to. Especially with the amount of PS2 games being purchased nowadays being preowned. Also software emulation isn't that difficult to do.

If they do it won't be for another 2 to 3 years. Putting PS2 games on the PSN Store would be the final nail in the PS2's coffin. They're not going to do that until the PS2 is 100% completely dead and that's not going to be for a while.

This is how I see it happening, the moment Sony confirms that PS2 development is being cancelled they will also confirm the release of the PS2 store/titles on the PSN. I doubt you will see PS2 titles released on the PS3 whilst the PS2 is still selling and being manufactured.

Simple... because there are some PS2 games that can't be found... ICO anyone? They should put up the Final Fantasys, ICO, God of Wars, Metal Gears and Twisted Metal at least.

They just started putting PS1 games up on a somewhat regular basis so I doubt we will see PS2 games for a long while if we ever do. I don't know why this PS2 crap is still being put on a pedestal. Yes the system had buku amount of games on the system and you didn't really need to own the other systems if you had a PS2. Play PS3 for awhile and then worry about that. People barely have touched PS3 and want to play PS2 games, play the new games, honestly.

No I don't think so, I think the reason they did a PS1 classics is because is nostelgic to play those old games again, but PS2 is still pretty fresh on the brain and most people most likely still have a lot of their ps2 games. Mine has Ps2 compatibility anyway. If they were to do it though I think it wouldn't be for a loooong time.

As downloadable content? To be honest, no. I hope that one day PS2 emulation will be so easy that it'll be a simple software update that doesn't brick your PS3. Wishful thinking....*sigh*

People who are saying to "Just buy a PS2" are overlooking something. A PS2 Store would allow people to get games they wouldn't find otherwise without paying a high price for them.

And it would allow access to games that weren't available in your region. I have some imports I want to play but I'm waiting to find a cheap import PS2. If they were available on the store it would be a lot easier. However I think it is Sony too who believe you should just buy a PS2.

They had the option back in 06 to mid 08 to get the BC. it's called buying for the long term. I bought a PS3 at the beginning knowing what was out but I figured it will eventually kick off sometime so I bought one anyway. I knew it would cost a arm and a leg based on the huge in your face rumors about blu ray costing a fortune to put it there. I knew it wasn't going to be cheap. For over a year it was said that PS3 was going to cost a pretty penny. Then a year later the BC models got knocked down 100 so I mean suit yourself. Yes it's expensive but premium packages have a premium price tag. I don't understand the big shock factor. Long before the system came out people knew and yet acted all surprised when it launched.

Once again people complain about not having something but they didn't want to shell out the money for it when it was available.I traded in close to all my PS2 games just to try to bring the price down and then my dad goes off and buys one. Anyway I was prepared to give up what I had for it.

When you saysomething is "too expensive" what your saying is I don't care about what features are inside I just want things cheaper. In order to get things cheaper they took out the BC and made things smaller. It was obvious they werefazing it outsince the European launchof the system. They never got BC with the emotion engine. It's pure logic really.

If people bought for the long term instead of immediate gratification, then people would be a lot happier and the BC units would have sold and then it might have stayed. The machine wasn't overpriced for what it could do at the time of launch. Blu Ray players by themselves costed just as much if not more than the PS3 first did.

I was just talking to my uncle last week and he bought a launch blu ray player for $1200. That is double the cost of a launch PS3.

But you wiated and now your "paying the price" he he
