I thought the first Uncharted was an amazing demo, but when I played the full game I got very frustrated a lot. My problem? I was always strapped for ammo. I couldn't enjoy the gunplay/cover system because I never had enough bullets...and this was on EASY difficulty....I would not have been able to beat the game on even normal difficulty without getting pissed. I really want to play UC2, but I hope they are a bit more generous with the ammo, its no fun when you can't afford to ever miss and every shot needs to be a head shot....

Did anyone else feel the same way? I can't really be that bad at games...I've played games my entire life, especially shooters!

THe first one really didn't catch my full attention, but this one does. Ive trying out the beat and i really like it. Try out the demo when it comes out, or try to get a hold of a beta code from gamestop asap to see if it will be to your liking (though its only a multiplayer demo).

i think wat he TC was tryin to say(if im not mistaken) is that no matter wat weapon u have and yes enemies do drop alot of ammo, but u wouldnt or wont have the same weapon for LONG, u eventually have to toss it to get another one. u cant go through the whole game for instance with just the ak-47 or M4. u eventually have to drop em somewhere in the middle of the level cuz no enemies or place have anymore ammo for it. but i do disagree with one thing TC i really didnt have trouble gettin ammo, i mean my aim sucked in this game but loved the story. but if u are referring about that u cant have a certain weapon for long or cant stay with that ONE weapon through out most of the game then yea i agree with u there, but it was that hard to find ammo here and there for it.

Or you could learn to aim ?

I'm just kidding. :p

There were a few moments in the game on my first playthrough (normal) where I didn't have enough ammo and had to settle for some melee kills. But once you learn how to manage your ammo properly and use the environment to your advantage, it wasn't a problem anymore. I don't recall missing ammo on my second playthrough (Hard) but there were times where I had to kill like 5-6 guys with 20 bullets left.

Perhaps less ammo means more strategy?

I would agree that the amount of ammo is not as high as other games, but I found it added a lot to the game. Many times I'd be taking on several enemies only to find out I have 15 bullets, so I scramble, thinking of creative ways to get out my predicament. It's a strength of the game.

I agree with Large_Soda, there were some great moments when you had fewer bullets left than folk to kill and you had to work out how you were going to grab that pistol setting on the bench across the room without getting shot by the mounted gun and taking down the guy with a close combat attack on the way. Awesome fun.

If you don't want to have to worry about ammo, you can download a completed game save which will have the option to have unlimited ammo.

You gotta keep moving. Uncharted isnt a game where you can just hide behind one wall and be done with it. Ya gotta keep on the move so that you can pick up ammo and find new and better guns. There is always planty of ammo around, and powerful guns in the huge arena fights. Ya just gotta know where to look, really.

It's been a while since I played Uncharted...I think I slightly misspoke, if I actively thought about ammo management which includes always picking up dropped ammo from enemies and using the weapons that had boatloads of ammo coming in(pistol) as much as possible, ammo was not a problem. But I guess my issue was that this wasn't fun...I don't like looking for items on the ground or having to try to use the pistol as much as possible.

I noticed that someone mentioned downloading a completed save game for unlimited ammo, how do you do that? Also, along those same lines, what ever happened to cheat codes? I would have a blast if I could turn on unlimited ammo in some games and just go on a rampage!!

So you're too lazy to pick up ammo? I'm sorry but I can't really sympathize with you. Ammo/weapons flash on the ground, they aren't hard to find.

I think it could be this

Most guys have 3 shots for a kill with some requiring more but they don't pop up as often. What you can do to maximize your weapons are head shots so all bare heads are one shot kills and helmets take 2.

The game does make you plan how to tackle the game. In some cases you need to do a brutal combo to make the guy drop twice the normal ammo. Then you have to be aware not to waste ammo, you can't go and pick up a clip if you're only 1 bullet short of full magazine.

The main thing is aiming, headshots are the key and if you miss the headshot then put the guy down quick and take his ammo so you can work on the next one.

Aim for the head. Also, just tap on R1 instead of holding down on R1 so it's more accurate. I never ran low on ammo. Even on Crushing.

This is my sentiment as well. While I never had problems with ammo, (even on crushing difficulty), you have to be as frugal as possible with ammo. I like that Naughty Dog didn't just shower the environment with ammo everywhere because that forces us as gamers to think critically and improve our play. Even in FPS games when the give you ample ammo throughout the game, I'm always one to horde my ammo as much as possible. I almost never use the machine gun or shotgun in Uncharted because I don't need to on hard or easier (crushing forces you to use it more)

Uncharted, uncharted. Uncharted, uncharted and uncharted. Uncharted uncharted uncharted. Uncharted. Uncharted with uncharted.

I'm getting sick of hearing uncharted. I just totally don't give a crap about this game. Could it be any more boring.

Wtf? You ran out of ammo easily on Easy?

My first playthrough was on Hard and I didn't have trouble with ammo. Maybe you should stop spraying or something :|.

personally i wish more games would give you less ammo. what happened to the days where you saved the powerfull weapons for a boss and had to figure out whether you should run by a few week bad guys so as not to waste what little ammo you had. i like the strategy of managing ammo. even now i always save the best guns for bosses even though you realize latter that you wasted your time because you would have just picked up more ammo. most games i end up with a crap load of unused powerfull ammo cause i assumed some insanely hard boss was around the corner and i was going to need it. so disappointing.

Don't play any Resident Evil game...Ever... Uncharted isn't a shooting game, it's an Action-Adventure game with shooting and platforming mechanics.

I love games that make you conserve ammo but really I never had an issue in Uncharted on normal. Their were times when maybe I finished a battle low on ammo but I would always replenish fully off the dead dudes. If they had retarded amounts of ammo then you could just sit behind the same wall and just unload clips all day. It would really take away a lot from the game imo.

Uhm...every enemy in the game carries a weapon you can pick up and use if you are low on ammo. So there is no shortage of ammo or guns to use. And if you are playing on easy, why do you need to even use the cover system. You should be able to just run and shoot for the majority of the game without coming close to dying. And if you are dying and take cover, you should heal quick enough that the enemies won't come for you.

I never had a problem but I think I know what you mean. You can't stockpile a ton of ammo for a gun and keep it the entire game and just spam off fire. You just have to be a bit more tactical about it.

I never had that problem. Just don't go trigger happy, aim properly and shoot, and pick up ammo from the dead enemies.
