I first owned a Playstation. I loved it.

Than I owned a Playstation 2. I loved it.

Than I owned an Xbox 360.

And I havent stopped using it.

Basically what I'm saying is, I'd like to buy a Playstation 3 because I have a feeling I'll love it. However I plan on playing all non-exclusives, like Call of Duty or Battlefield, on my Xbox 360. My question is:

Is the Playstation 3 worth buying JUST for the exclusives?

I've played Resistance 2 (I think) at a friends house and thought it was pretty good. I'm seeing things like The Last of Us pop up, and I've always wanted to try the Uncharted series. So after saying that, revert the the bold text above.

I believe it is. One thing is definitely true, PS3 does have a great amount of exclusives both in retail and PlayStation+. The question comes down to are there enough of them that interest you personally to purchase the system for?

That question only you can answer, I personally could justify purchasing PS3 only for exclusives. Like yourself, I grew up with playing PS and PS2 so naturally I got PS3 and majority of the games I had great time with are also on PS3. God of War series, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, Yakuza series etc.. and many fantastic new franchises like Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, Uncharted series, Infamous series, Demon's Souls, Killzone series, Resistance series, Motorstorm series and so forth.

There are others as well but its up to you to find them out. There are certainly many to choose from which brings me to my recommendation: yes, its worth owning the PS3 just for exclusives it has to offer now and in the future, like the The Last of Us, God of War: Ascension and Beyond that we are aware so far.

It's worth it.

If you wanna play a lot of games, sure. But if not, i'd say it's not worth it.

Yes, it is. Games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 2&3, Killzone 2&3, Resistance 2&3, Infamous 1&2, Demon's Souls, God of War 3, and many others justify the purchase. Many other games are coming out as well in the very close future like Playstation All Stars Battle Royale, Last of Us, God of War Ascension, and Ni No Kuni:Wrath of the White Witch.

If you're playing "Resistance", play the first game first. Despite what others might say, it's a great game and it really sets up the second two. Also, I echo the "Uncharted" series, from the beginning as the first game is excellent. "Killzone" is the most unique FPS on the system, and the third game managed to stand in the face of post-CoD genre changes and remain a special experience with it's own mechanics, and style ("Resistance 3", not so much - I still think the first game is the pinnacle of the "Resistance" series).

I'm going to say it, even though I know the **** storm which will folllow, but I liked "LAIR".

:|

Go ahead, throw things everyone... Jeer me into the ground.

:|

I can take it.

:|

I would also say that if you like Horror Adventure, you shouldn't pass up "Alone in the Dark: Inferno". I consider this to be an exclusive for the PS3 (even though it came out on the 360 first). The devs went back to the drawing board for the PS3 version and they cleared up a ton of the issues which make the 360 version unplayable, and i think it's one of the better games of the gen. Also, VERY cheap - $5 cheap.

For (Sim) racing, it gets no finer than "Gran Turismo 5".

"Heavenly Sword" is a great early-library game on par with the "God of War" series, with great combat. Fun game, and CHEAP.

"Vanquish" is sublime Third-Person action. BUY IT.

From my experience, my PS3 is primarily used for multiplats. That being said, I found the inFAMOUS games and 3D Dot Game Heroes very entertaining. I wouldn't feel it necessary to buy a whole new console when you already have a 360. There's just so much overlap. I feel there's no "OMG, I have to own this" exclusive for the PS3.

Saboteur is multiplatform but used a special engine only on PS3 that was very good for the shadows and black and white

Heavenly Sword is not Cheap.... It's 34 bucks on Amazon and the game is less than 10 hours long.

Anyway, if you're alright about buying a console to play about 15 games, then go for it. You'll also get an advantage of being able to buy the cheaper game of either console.... And play MP with people that own PS3's, instead of Xbox.

I would say yes. Although the library of exclusives has shrunk considerably this gen compared to the way it used to be, I don't think that matters for most people. 20 or 30 top notch games should be more than enough to justify a purchase, but my advice would be to wait for a deal (i.e. a holiday bundle) or something along those lines.

The PS3 is definitely worth it for the exclusives: - Uncharted 1/2/3 - Resistance 1/2/3 - Killzone 2/3 - God of War 3 - Motorstorm 1/2/3 These are just to name a few and they are all great games, and many more exclusives yet to come.

Oooooo-K... Then I suggest you look for it elsewhere. Amazon is NOT the absolute-best place to shop for everything, all the time. I bought it from a resale here in Green Bay for $12.99.

:?

I tend to find games at the bloody GameStop that're way cheaper than Amazon. I can list recent aquisitions if you like.
