[QUOTE="KraftForgotten"][QUOTE="raeloneq"][QUOTE="KraftForgotten"][QUOTE="raeloneq"][QUOTE="W3dotCOM"]People get mad because they want there system to be the top. If a company loses an exclusive then they not only lose a chunk or revenue but also a % of market share do to such a game forcing buyers to purchase their console. Exclusives are a HUGE deal, especially at his stage and with such an even market share. Companies need them.raeloneqOk I see why the companies care about this, but why do you care about it? At the end, you will play the game on whichever console. Loss sells, and losing revenue will only come about the end of the Play station system. And we the fans don't want that, we want to see a PS4, and PS5... Being a fan of a system is pretty sad.....It's about the game not the system. It's also about the system, being that you cannot play the game without the system. Systems come and go. i.e. Sega, Neo Geo etc.. Games for those systems have kept going such franchises as Sonic or King of Fighters. I understand you need a system to play these games on. But does it matter what name is on the system???
Each console has their unique features that differenciate them from others. If you cant grasp that concept its not my problem. I cant stand the 360 controller, and even less the Wii control. Thats why there is people that care in a healthy way, not the raving fanboy.
Havent you ever cared about an X sport team, or would you just switch to any team? Do you go to your countries sport matches and arent you happy about it? Or you just dont care? Its the same basic concept.Â

Alot of people put pride into something they've spent $400-$600 on.
For me, systems I'm iffy about, like the Gamecube... I waited for a price drop. Now when RE4 was brought to PS2..Did I flip? Heck no... Infact I should go turn on my PS2 and play it right now, it's fun O_o.
I enjoy waiting for price drops, doing so makes me feel like I've made the better choice, and so far waiting it out hasn't failed me yet.
Not to mention, if it's a decent system and you've waited 2-3 years, alot of fairly old, yet awesome games are out at low pricing.
OK all these answers are rediculous. Being a fan of a system is stupid. Are you a fan of a chunk of plastic and metal or a fan of the games you play on it?
Now to answer the TCs question. The reason why I want games to stay exclusive is so they dont have to worry about cutting corners to make it work on other consoles. I want my favorite games to be built specifically for the console it was meant for so they can really push the technology and concentrate on one main objective. No matter what the console.

We all have different notions on either to wait, or buy early. But, me I'd rather buy it early on, instead of waiting a year or two for a price drop.[QUOTE="OmegaOrtega"]Ok I see why the companies care about this, but why do you care about it? But elaborate on why you buy them early on, just like I explained why I wait :)
For me, I'd buy systems early if there weren't these things called bills.... and college :|
I like the concept behind the system, and how it runs among other things that the system can do. I shouldn't have said "fan" but in particularly liking the system and its potential. I take college courses in High school, and I don't have any bills to pay nor will I have any once I get into the college I plan on going to. So why not buy early, with money to spend I don't have to wait.Dont get me wrong the PS3 is my favorite of the new consoles. Its the most capable in the longrun. To want a game to be exclusive just to see one of the big 3 get a little more cash doesnt make sense. Consoles come and go, but a good franchise will survive. My only problem with multiplat is the fact that we dont get to see the hardware get pushed. To many bottle necks. I dont really care which company gets the next dollar.treelog187When you think about it that way human life only seems trivial. We come and go just like other things on this Earth. What doesn't is that the future babies and people can have a better life with contributions this generation makes. But, that won't happen we'll all die one day from either the Sun becoming the red giant engulfing the Earth, or humans destroying one another until there is nothing left.

See, that can also be a problem. Consoles are PRICEY, and I don't mean, "but 360 is cheaper!." I mean to say that no matter what they arn't cheap. So if someone, and I'll say it because its relevent, "invests" in one, then they want it to do well. They want to be hapy with their purchase. They DO NOT want to have to go out and buy another system because this one doesn't hve THIS game or I like THIS one, buts its not for my system anymore.

It can be a problem? I'm not disagreeing with that. I'm basically speaking for myself. Notice how after my first sentence I said "for me". I was speaking for myself only. Also the caps aren't needed. "I mean to say that no matter what they arn't cheap." Price drops are nice for people who buy multiple consoles, something I tend to do. Also I believe $99 for a Gamecube was pretty freaking cheap. Also, not everyones opinion on whats cheap is the same, which is why I said "I believe". Not everyone else will agree of course. Please Log In to post.
