simplist way to format to fat32 is if u have a TV with USB record, u can use the TV to format the HDD to fat32. otherwise most of my customers at work dont even understand why the HDD they grabbed off the shelf doesnt work. And they dont even try and research it, they just bring them back and whinge.
none of the current versions of windows have it built in, has to be a 3rd party program. i thought it was taken out of xp after SP1?
yeah they do...it was never taken out...and why would M$ take it out? that don't make any sensenone of the current versions of windows have it built in, has to be a 3rd party program. i thought it was taken out of xp after SP1?

i read online that the only way the ps3 can read my external hard drive is if its formatted to fat 32. the only options to format my hd is ntfs and exfat . How do i format it to Fat32?? its a 320gb hard drive and i only got it to watch music and listing to music on my ps3 . Does anyone else have this problem? llcoolbearswindows only allows you to format a hard drive in fat32 that is 32GB or less. since your hard drive is 320GB, u can't format it in fat32...however; there are third party utilities out there that allows you to format hard drives in fat32

[QUOTE="kungfool69"]yeah they do...it was never taken out...and why would M$ take it out? that don't make any sense M$ does a LOT of things that don't make any sense...case in point (and a short story...) I had to set up a POS system at a laundromat that had a specialized printer to print tags: it can use a parallel port (google it if you don't know what that is) and not USB. And no it cannot use a USB. I installed a parallel PCI card and the driver, and it worked until I rebooted the computer (it didn't help that the owner cobbled together a home computer at Best Buy instead of getting a specialized POS computer like I suggested). For some reason, Windows 7 has been a disaster for printers (probably those of the USB variety that Businesses still use).none of the current versions of windows have it built in, has to be a 3rd party program. i thought it was taken out of xp after SP1?
