Correction.. BethSoft probably make the best DLC around at the moment
Oblivion's DLC was extremely long & high-quality ...

I personally hate downloadable content. Most of the time it's either pointless or they're just trying to squeeze you for an extra buck or two for something that easily could have already been in the game. It's highway robbery, IMO.jubino
True on the most part. BethSoft really are an exception though ...
they said the DLC will be along the lines of what "Knights of the nine" was to oblivion ...
no point thinking about it though ... we don't get it :(

I do have to agree with you on that. Oblivion had some really good DLC, but when Bioshock came out and then like a week later they added all those plasmids to Xbox Llive, that just pissed me off. There was no reason for that, other than greed or someone missing a deadline, and if that's the case, why take it out on us?

I agree, particularly Shivering Isles. Regrettably, if Oblivion's any indication, we probably WILL get screwed on DLC. Hopefully this isn't the case... it might be like Oblivion where we'll get some of it with a GOTY Edition, but that sucks too because it screws early adopters (if I can use that term to apply to games... I guess I can because I just did).
But if Oblivion's any indication, we don't really need the DLC anyway because it'll already be a long and enjoyable experience on its own.

The leads in my reasoning: I haven't even gotten anywhere near finishing Oblivion without any of its DLC. If I get Fallout3, I dodn't think I'm going to miss any DLC. Even if I actually finish it, I'll probably want to move on by that era.

Was Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles really DLC?
I thought you get DLC from PSN or Xbox Live, I also thought KotN and SI were expansions not DLC.

Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine were more of expansion than DLC.
and PS3 got them too.
The actually DLC that is limited to 360 includes stuff like horse armor.... and PS3 owners haven't missed out on much.
I'm guessing Fallout3 is not much different.

Except that, I believe, MS paid for it all to be exclusive.Chances are this is just marketing ploy from Microsoft.
Note that this is downloadable content, not expansion.
If two companies made the deals saying DLC is exclusive to MS, then Beth can just say we are releasing this on PS3 because this is not DLC but an expansion.
It's all just difference of wording, but DLC and expansion has difference. Horse armor stuff was DLC, but Nights of the Nine and Shivering Isles were expansions.

BethSoft has said The DLC for fallout 3 will be the equivalent of "Knights of the nine"
so we are missing out... it won't be like freaking horse armor
if you got a PC all expansions are DLC :(

Yeah the oblivion dcl was great too and the ps3 owners didn't got them...
It doesn't matter actually, why bother about a DLC when you can have 100 over hours of play time and 200 over endings? :Dgod_of_shawnyea T.T alot of people seem really whiny about this for no reason.

Yeahg Bethseda (sp?) and Criterion have the best DLC.
a memorable Quote from GTA IV "FDLC" work it out for yourselfjacksik
It stands for Fire Department of Liberty City. Its not a subliminal message or whatever.

What are you talking about regarding Bioshock? It wasn't a week later... more like three months. Also, the update and additional plasmids they added were given to players absolutely free. Not a single cent charged for any of it.
Back to the topic at hand, yea it kind of sucks that Microsoft straight up paid for Fallout's DLC; but Fallout 3 is giong to be fairly massive game as it is and will occupy most everyone for quite awhile.

[/QOUTE]I'll get the 360 game then. Why buy it on here, if the 360 has more content and runs better. IDK. My ps3 is for exclusives like LBP, which is amazing (beta). I cannot wait for that. And others like kz2 r2 gow3 etcThe 360 version and PC will have DLC. Of course, with how 360 embraces additional gamerscore and achievements with certain download packs, it's more for the hardcore fanatics of the game. Right now, Microsoft's got money to spend.GrandstreamAll these trophys and stuff are just important to "real" gamers, the casual gamer probably doesn't care too much about them. It's true, tho, that Microsoft is doing a better job getting licenses/exclusives. BTW: You have one of the best avatars I've ever seen. Nice job!

JUST horse armor? Have you even played any of the add-ons for Oblivion? Frostcrag Spire? Not to mention the other "homes" you can get for pretty cheap? Horse Armor is the only weak add-on, but even that was a little over a dollar. On a side note, who keeps bringing up crusty old topics!?
