Fallout 3 error...... already

in the very beginning when you're taking the GOAT test, i sat in my chair and waited 15 minutes and the test never started. i couldnt move or access any menus except for the load/save pause menu. it wasnt until i reloaded the last autosave point did i realize that just because i sat in the front right chair in teh classroom, the test wouldn't start. simply ridiculous... plus in the early dialog explaining your birth, the audio skipped a couple times. so far, i'm not very pleased with this game. mrpear

OMG! I have the same problem wtf man !? You would think they know how to develop on the PS3, it's not their first game afer all. Don't they have some experience from Oblivion?

I was trying to decide previously which console to get this on. It is released here in the UK on Friday the 31st, so it looks like i'll be picking up the 360 version, I can't be bothered with all these bugs floating around.

We (PS3 community) wait for all these potentially awsome games all year long and when they are released with great reviews etc, we always forget ONE MAJOR THING b4 buying these games: "THEY ARE PORTS!!" It has been custom for devs to build the games on 360 and then port it to PS3 later on. 90% of the trailers you watch for multiplatform games are running on 360. PS3 has yet to win this battle! let me name a few recent ones - First FRYCRY 2 and now Fallout 3. You can add games such as RE5, Prince Of Persia, and COD5 soon to this list. Coolboy420x

Yes but what makes this harder to swallow is the fact that this isn't Bethesda's first time porting. They did a good job with Oblivion why not learn from that experience and use it for Fallout ?

Man read the reviews, it says that the bugs/graphics deficiencies shouldn't hamper the experience of playing the game on ps3 as compared to 360.

I'll fill yall in when I play the game. Seems like most of the people having the minor glitches think its the end of the world.

link,,LOL the game is out and people are giving their fist hand reviews. Im sure with a little research you can find numerous comparison articles. And the ps3 got ..........well..........they showed no love to it

They did a good job with oblivion but that's because they had an extra year to work on it. 360 is easier to code for than PS3 so they had a couple of options, release both at the same time with the PS3 having more bugs or release the PS3 version a few months later at the same level of quality as the 360. Sony would have shat bricks if they werer told the PS3 version wouldn't be released at the same time. TheRaven17

But Fallout and Oblivion are not that different ( open world... , etc.) so if you managed to do a good job once you should be able to do it again and in less time because you learn a lot from your previous experience.

Considering that PS3 has more bugs and no trophy support, while the 360 has less bugs, achievements and DLC (apparently), Id go for the latter choice.

So bad that they say at one point, anytime a friend signs on or messages you, or you check xmb it will freeze. That's not plagued with bugs?

Yeah they said if you have notices turned on for when your friends log on it will lag for 3 seconds or so. You can turn those notices off you know. Do you really need to be told when your friends sign in?

IGN also said that while there may be bugs the game can be just as enjoyable on the PS3 unless of course you are cynical and pay attention to all the smallest details.

I'm pretty sure that if IGN wrote that it was PLAGUED with bugs they would have said it would have been unplayable. I mean, all of you are acting like the damn thing is unplayable.

As for the person who asked me how far cry 2 is.

I'm currently really enjoying this game. Currently 42% complete and I've logged 19 hours of GT. The environments look top notch. The gun play is surperb (unless of course you decide you want to fire from the hip all day. If thats the case your not going to have much luck).

I love being able to have the freedom of how I tackle my missions. I can go in guns blazing, I can pull all the guys out into open fields by starting huge fires. Its pretty sweet!

#1 - I couldn't care less for DLC for the PS3 version of Fallout 3. The game is going to have enough crap to do in it as it is.

#2- Trophies, sure I wish they had them . There is definitely potential for them to patch it with trophies in the future. I think its rumoured actually. Honestly guys, if you can't enjoy a game with out trophies there is a problem :\.

With any game of this size and scope, you can likely expect a few bugs to slip through the testing process and that is the case here. I had the game crash a couple times. I, and other editors at IGN, have also experienced an annoying number of bugs on the PS3 version that have prevented the game from progressing or have broken the world. In all of these cases, reloading the game has been enough to fix the errors and nothing was frustrating or detrimental enough to give me thought of not recommending the game.

How bad are the actual bugs btw?... I'm dying to get this game but I only have a ps3 so I don't know whether to buy it or not.

Also.. I live in Great Britain and the games coming out this Friday, but I've preordered it and I don't know whether to cancel my preorder and get Far CRy 2 instead.

If the bugs aren't severe though I'd choose Fallout 3 anyday over Farcry2 but FC2 looks like good fun.

If they don't give us a patch i doubt i'll ever buy another game from Bethesda... this is just pathetic.americahellyeah

I just emailed them with my complaints. I had the game preordered and paid in full, but I refuse to pick it up until a patch is confirmed or released. I'm not paying the same price as 360 owners for a far worse experience, thats just BS.

Lol, graphically inferior. Its essentially only graphically inferior if you stand there staring at the textures. Only then would you be able to notice it (this is what I've read in the reviews).

I never said people can't be upset. But everyone here is acting like the game is BROKEN. The game ISN'T broken. Everyone is acting like t's christmas morning and you got sh!t in your stocking. Every review I have read has said that the beef in the game SHOULD NOT hinder your ability to enjoy the game.

honestly, i cant say that this game is plagued with bugs since i've only invested 30 mins into it. but considering the percentage of bugs to the time spent playing, the ratio is pretty bad. skipping audio on the opening scene? i mean, come on... that's just unforgivable. the "stuck in a chair" thing is also just a little absurd, especially now since a few of you have said it happened to your copy too. so plagued? no... too early to tell, but you can bet your jaggied, overshadowed fanny that i'm not gonna go into the next few hours of the game without nit picking now. mrpear

Personally didn't get the chair bug (I think it has to do with how you handle the situation outside the classroom...) sorry to hear you got it.

FC2 runs amazing on the ps3...I can't say anything for the 360...but zero problems on the ps3 so far on my end.
