Nope if they're dead then they stay dead..unless you're on pc where u can use console commands to get 'em back.

I recommend saving when about to enter a dangerous zone, got charon killed several times in old olney and just keep reloading until I was able to save him!

its kinda impossible until it happens to you... I started saving at almost every step when I lost clover on my first playthrough ... I think its just the nature of the game to make u pay when you're careless with the saves...

If they die, then I'm sorry but they are gone forever. Although what I do is that if they die in a building area then you could load the autosave back up.

You can't revive them, but there are other followers in the game. Depending on where you are at and how strong your character is it really shouldn't matter all that much. If it does just reload the last save.

They don't really do well for indoors. Especially cramped areas. It's always good to save before you enter a building. If they die in there, load up the save and tell him to wait or take him to your safe house and make them wait there. I had Charon and Dog Meat following me when I went into the lower half of Rivet City to see Pinkerton. They were slaughtered within seconds because their combat reaction isn't all that great with different situations. Good thing I saved before I went in there and just told them to wait the next time.

I also don't really like how they just dash off after people when I want to do stealth kills. Too bad there aren't more commands for the NPCs.

Fawkes is way better than charon anyway. He has a gatling laser and infinite ammo. No more wasting supplies on followers.

Yeah, I would use either Fawkes or Paladin Cross. They are probably the best 2 followers you can get.

Fawkes- Super mutant

Paladin Cross- Brotherhood of steel armor

Anybody else is pretty much a waste of time and you could probably do better by yourself.

They can't be revived once dead on the PS3. Paladin Cross is a great example for the character to use as an expendable object, just like the militiary officials use their soldiers as dogs in war. Once they're dead, they stay dead.
