Gore is EXTREME. Almost every fight will end with someone's head being blown off, or blow up. The game will then do a slow mo follow of the head that was severed and roll on the ground.
Cursing, it happens just like regular conversation if someone is made they'll curse., there are some sex references, and you can get a hooker if you want.
lots of swearing eh? hmm that annoys me if its constent but it wont stop m egetting this game :D and its nice and gore.. 2 more days for me!! ^^

I wouldn't say there's a huge amount of swearing... as much as you'd hear in everyday conversation. At least if you hung out in squalid wasteland pubs and so forth, y'know? It's not Kane And Lynch with the swearing, it's just kinda like you're run-of-the-mill R-rated movie.
The VATS system ensures gore, though. And if you're not using it, you're probably not winning, so you're going to see heads pop off.
