I've been playing this game for about a week now and about every 15 minutes this game has a problem running like everything will dip below 5 FPS and even a lot of times i have to restart the whole thing because its frozen. Does anyone here have this problem?

You do realize that Fallout 3 on PS3 is a glitchfest right? Not just GOTY. The PS3 version is incredibly inferior to the others. I hate it for you, but that's just the way it is

I don't know if I've just been lucky, but I've put some decent hours into both the standard version and the GOTY edition (buying GOTY used was cheaper than buying all the DLC from the store) and I think I've experienced one system crash. Certainly nothing to get my nerd - rage on about.

The GOTY edition for PS3 only crashed when I would use some of the dlc, it would crash most during Point Lookout.

I played the standard version of the game for 100+ hours. I'd get that 5 frames per second thing extremely rarely. In fact, I think the first time I noticed it was maybe 80 hours into the game, and it only happened about 3 times after that. It froze on me maybe 15 times in 100 hours. I dunno, maybe it was 20.

I've heard that turning off the auto-save feature can help. I tried it and it didn't seem to make any difference, but that game seems to behave differently for just about everyone who plays it, so you might as well give it a try.

I originally played FO3 on the PS3, and while I did finish it, it was buggy as hell. Framerate was never THAT bad, though of course it did stutter occasionally, but mostly the problem was freezing, which it did constantly.

So I wound up getting the GOTY version on 360. I love my PS3, but there's some games I'll still get on the 360.

My god yes thats where it freezes the most for me too. It just doesn't seem to like Point Lookout.

Mine runs fine. I've played it for over 40 hours and it's only had a few hiccups. It doesn't run perfect all the time, but it's good enough for me to play without too many worries.

I've never had any problems with Fallout freezing up or anything. Not sure why so many people are having problems with it.

I did experience some lag from the GOTY Edition and I dont know if it would be any different for the regular version...it froze probably about 8 times in 50 hour of gameplay, and the autosaves saved my butt a couple times. I found it got laggy when it autosaved and there was a whole bunch of stuff happening at the same time...I guess it's different fo everyone.

most of my crashes came after point lookout, i thought the game was nearly flawless until i bought the DLC lol. started saving every 5 minutes because i didnt know how close another freeze was around the corner! Oblivion on the other hand never crashed on me.
