Fallout 3 Megaton Bomb

What happens if you defuse the bomb in Megaton? Will the people hate you since it's their god? Do things change around Megaton if you defuse it? Is it a challenge to defuse it like picking a lock? Can something go wrong? I know Burke wants you to blow it up but I told Simms about him andBurke tried to kill Simms, so I saved Simms by killing Burke lol.

Now I don't want to spoil anything. Choices are fun but not so much consequences! ;)

Do what you think is right and hopefully it works out for you. Make sure to save frequently so that if they don't you'll have a recent save file to use.

Well hes asking so ill tell him. If you defuse it you get your own Pad (house) in Megaton, and you gain alot of good karma (or wutever you call it). You also get to do all the quests located in the town, i think they may become available since oyur not killing everyone know what i mean.

I dont think it takes any manual work to arm it/disarm it, i think you just need alot of Science.

Moria turns up in the Museum of History(if I recall) as a ghoul in the ghoul city there. But the quest Blood Ties may not be picked up if you havnt started it yet..if I remember right.

Either option is fine if you want a lot of bad karma blow it up, good karama disfuse it. Both ways net you a home (either Tenpenny Towers or Megaton) which is very usefull and its worth doing asap.

How to I get the xp to activate it?

On my first playthrough I didn't blow it up, and I told myself I would on the inevitable second playthrough.

If I recall you need explosive skill at 30

Well, I solved my own answer. I used about 6 packs of mentats to get the explosive skill. I defused it, the house is very useful.

Go visit Moira and you can have the house decorated in a variety of styles, and get stuff like a home medical kit and science kit, so you can heal yourself. That's all fairly expensive though.

I plan to decorate it as I progress through the game. I take it you come across alot more money as the game goes on, or do yu constantly have around $200-$400 without saving it all up?

One more question, if you wear Raider gear, will people treat you as one?

Don't worry, the game won't blow up.

If you don't like your decision just restart. Your at Megaton, that's like 10 minutes into the game so it's not like you'd be losing hundreds of hours of gameplay.

All right, this is kind of a complex question... The situation in my Megaton is as follows: I've accepted the challenge to defuse the bomb. However, I also mistakenly accepted the offer to detonate the bomb. Once I realized I had accepted both offers, I straight up murdered the dude who gave me the device used to detonate the bomb. Now, I still have the mission to defuse the bomb, but when look at the bomb, I only have the option of detonating it (with no mission attached). One more detail: I can't get rid of the detonator device. I have no clue what to do about this. Any tips Other than 'blow up Megaton for zero currency'?
