Good game but if you follow the main quest line it is kinda short. Good thing there are plenty of side missions to fill in a lot of time. There are also plenty of moments where you are in a massive fight and you either run out of ammo, health items, or your weapon breaks. Good game though, oh and also be mindful of what you pick up and sell seeing that alot of things that you think aren't useful in the beginning and disregard or sell end up being a piece of a schematic needed to build a weapon or an item that can be sold for more money at a non-vendor person (some quest givers will buy items off of you).
so far its awesome, im loving it, i really liked oblivion so fallout was kind of a no brainer for me, id would tell anyone who even remotely likes RPGs to get it.
^if you buy this game only to do the main quest your wasting your money. Its a great game and since you will be running all over the place getting into all kinds of things, the main quest will probably be the least of your worries.
Great game. Only beat it once but took me 65 hours, too many other great games out at the moment to play through it all again, I think I'll wait for the DLC before beating it again.

how is it so far content wise compared to Oblivion. I only can get like 3 games for this past fall till the end of feb so im trying to buy the best possible. I LOVE Oblivion to death, but im kind of worried about the 20 level cap

^The 20 level cap is pretty annoying, but the game is still great. Just make sure you don't pick any of the perks that give you extra xp because you won't need it.
If you loved oblivion, I'm sure you'll love fallout 3.

!i love the darn game! you can explore anywhere and i mean ANYWHERE! i like to play it in the dark because it creates more suspense. especially when you're in the wasteland at night =D

QFT i got the ripper last night, which is like a combat knife/chainsaw mix. I ran up to a super mutant slice a few times, turned on VATS and watched him do a backflip after i sliced his head off
i'm more than 50 hours into the game and i'm only on the 3rd mission in the main story. there's so much stuff to do, why would you want the game to end quickly?

Its greaaat! And yes, the main quest is not that big but I've spent a LOT of time with this game and I've barely touched the MQ 'cause the side quests are really great, u have lots of options to complete them and you can at the very least get a couple of playthroughs with good/bad character so dont even think it man just go 'n get it!
Im so in love with this game that even though Ialeady own the xbox version I wanted the collectors edition too (damn bobblehead I just needed it! =P) and Im having a blast playin' it right from the start!
