I hate posting topics like this and hate reading topics like this but let me ask you guys. Do you have to play FallOut 1 & 2 to play 3 or is 3 just a game that's not a squeal to the previous titles?

Thanks!

not exactly sure. Bethesda tends to develop their own plots pretty well and will somewhere in the mix have the story of the last 2.

so im guessing its not needed to understand the game but probably better if you want the whole story

I don't think so. They said it tells the story of a survivor from vault 101 or something like that. It's different vault than the ones in Fallout 1, 2.

Bethesda said themselves that they are aiming towards people that never played the series. So you dont have to worry. Fallout 3 will have a story of its own.

While fallout 2 took place many many years after fallout 1, I don't think you have to play fallout 1 to understand fallout 2. Theres usually bits of information within the game to give you a bit of backround information. So no I don't reckon you would have had to play the previous games to play fallout 3.

YES something i know about i have both fallouts for my pc and the first game is set around you coming out of vault 13 in which you are on the hunt for a water chip that will recycle your water in your vault. the 2nd game is set around you being a chosen one who wears the outfit of the vault 13 which to them is a relic, your aim in this game is to find a eden case that will help you transform locol lands into rich green lands for crops etc. this 3rd game is you leave the vault 101 in the look for your father who left but you dont know the reason why so it doesnt really have a link to the first 2 games unless theirs some twist further down the line when playing it
