I love roleplaying games and shooters. Is this worth it? :) Thanks.

It's a fantastic game, so yes, it's worth it.
There is a caveat, though - of the three versions (PC, 360, PS3) the PS3 one is by far the worst. If you have the option of getting it for either other platform, do it.
That's not to say the PS3 version is totally broken, but visually it's not quite as good looking and it is more prone to save game glitches, particularly once you get into DLC in the GOTY version.
edit - also, don't go into it thinking it's a shooter - it's not. You'll hateit if you do.
definitely worth it, its amazing. its oblivion with a futuristic aspect and shorter side quests. the guns and storyline will knock you down but if you dont get up to keep playing. you have something wrong with you. its an amazing game. no questions asked. with both the good and evil storylines to play with and different skills to adapt your charectar to. its truly an indepth masterpiece and an amazing game to play. no enduring boring gameplay or hard levels and missions, if your doing it right. the game will never be too hard. never too easy. just right, as dumb as it sounds to say as long as your doing it right. its true, you do not want to miss side quests and other stuff, but you have to take a bit of time and explore the world around you in order to do it, different outcomes or rearanging a few things in the game will open up other things, other quests and other outcomes in locations. very indepth and amazingly put together. its a pyramid of fantastic gameplay. i strongly urge you to play to play or buy this game!
Fallout 3 is easily one of the best games this gen. There are problems with the PS3 version, but it doesn't make the game unplayable or anything. I suggest not thinking of this game like a shooter, and not playing this game strictly for the single player campaign (do sidequests, explore the wasteland), or else you'll hate or just not care for it. It's a great game with a lot to offer.
Awesome, I'll pick it up soon. :) Is it really *that* broken? I mean, Oblivion GotY has the vampire glitch... figured that out first-hand. Not cool.
the ps3 version, well at least mine, my character get's stuck in the scenery alot, like once i was fighting a sentry bot in one the military bases and when i jumped to avoid becoming a well done human i got stuck in the wall....needless to say i was mad, but that one thing didn't turn me off the game at all, i have over 100 logged hours on it
No it isn't. I'm actually playing the first unpatched version of it and it's been working perfectly fine except for the few hiccups in V.A.T.S. (which they fixed). Mad Brahmin FTW!Awesome, I'll pick it up soon. :) Is it really *that* broken? I mean, Oblivion GotY has the vampire glitch... figured that out first-hand. Not cool.

As far as I know about GOTY edition, it's basically the same Fallout 3. Just all the DLC are on the disk as well.
Why are you asking us?? Watch the amazing and gory gameplay movies here on Gamespot and you'll answer your own question!! :D
WOW! Thanks for all the responses. I'm gonna pick up the regular version for the PS3 -- I've heard almost nothing but bad stuff about the DLC for the PS3 version.
Fallout 3 is an amazing game but I too encountered a glitch in the little lantern cave where the little runt wouldn't open the gates for me after I saved his pals and I had to literally push him to the gate so that it would open but after that the map never updated so I had to restart from an earlier save where unfortunately I had to save the kids again. Don't let this put you off though as it is worth it.

Is that the glitch where they never die but they kick the crap outta you and you can never get through it. This made me hate Oblivion.
id reconsider that as the goty gives you increased level cap , more skills and enemies into the regular game too , even if you dont like the dlcs which are pretty cool imoWOW! yes. actually i was playing a bit of it lastnight after i deleted the game install and saved files then re-installed the game again for the trophies to work... i rarely play this kind of games but i like it, so much stuff to do and a massive environment to explore, i wasn't even doing story related missions, i was just roaming around.

It's funny that you mention that because I've had serious problems with the 360 version.
For what the non-GOTY edition sells for nowadays, it's a steal - definitely pick it up! I had a really hard time getting into it at fist, as your weapons are extremely underpowered, but once you've leveled them up they get much better. It's different from most games - you need to just go wandering around the wasteland and finding various places in order to discover all the quests. My first time through I "finished" it and missed half the game.
