Fallout: New Vegas has been patched (Canada so I'm guessing all NA) for anyone who was wondering when it's coming.

"As you may have seen, we released a patch over Steam for PC users last night. While we didn't release a full changelist, the patch contains quest and scripting fixes. It's not a minor hotfix, it contains over 200 fixes in all. We are in the final stages of testing this update on both 360 and PS3 and we hope to have them out to users very soon."

Jason Bergman

The same update is now avilable on consoles too.

Got the patch. Downloaded it. Still got a lot (and I mean a LOT) of game breaking glitches. Some are entertaining and you can laugh them off...others just flat out ruin your experience. It really sucks, because I'm a HUGE fan of Fallout 3 but I've lot count of how many times I've had to reload or restart something just to continue playing. Those who plan on waiting are the smart ones. Keep waiting. This is Fallout 3 NV Beta right now and as big of a fan I am, I'd say this isn't worth playing yet.

I never encountered game breaking glitches..

It seems that New Vegas can go either way, so I guess take you're chance. I am playing on a 120gig slim so maybe that has something to do with it. I have 50 hours in and the game froze only 4 times. I did encounter an item that once picked up freezes you're game. I find it pretty funny though and would not call that game breaking.

So what glitches have you been encountering? Also what model PS3 do you play on?

No offense, but 4 freezes is unacceptable in my book. I guess it was more important to get it on the shelves before black friday than release it proper.

You're kidding me?

Fallout 3 froze 6 times within a 10 hour period, once they patched it ev everything is alright, but really? unacceptable? My game froze every 10 hours or so, how is that unacceptable? Are you that lazy and cannot just turn off you're console and turn it back on, is it that much of a pain for you my king?

It's an open world game, expect freezes and deal with it. If it were to freeze every hour or 2 like fallout 3 did, then thats a pain in the butt. Once every 10 hours is nothing.

Go to the casino in Primm and buy a whole bunch of tokens and say you want to cash them in for caps. They give you the caps but don't take away the tokens and you can do this as many times as you please. I got 50,000 caps in the first five hours of the game. :P

I honestly didn't think it was that many fixes.

This is the same update that we got yesterday for consoles too.

I expect something to work properly when I buy it. Guess that is just me. I play plenty of other open world games and don't have freezes. To each their own I guess. To say I am lazy because I want something to work like it should, well.. I'll just leave it at that. To debate that the game before it was even worse on freezes, well.. that doesn't say much about their track record on releases. Sure they fix it with patches, but why couldn't that have been done in the development/beta period before it went into production?

I've put about 16 hours into the game, seeing as I have a job and I work a lot so I don't have a lot of time to play it(sadly). But I haven't noticed any bugs whatsoever. The only times I thought they were bugs, they weren't. When i left the hidden bunker, I forgot to grab my stuff outta the box. When i left the Fort, I forgot to get my stuff. Then i thought the game froze on me, but my controller died, and I didn't realize it until I had already turned my ps3 off. It lags once is a while, and gets real choppy, but I'm used to it, seeing as I played Fallout 3 GOTY without a patch. You also gotta remember that the world is HUGE and there's a lot going on at once, and with all the detail into every aspect of the game, it's not gonna be perfect. Either play it or don't play it, but don't go complaining about it because it's not what you expected or wanted.

I have the patch. Didn't notice any differences.
I dunno what it is, but I have only experienced fram rate drops about 4 times, and that is it. I'm about 28 hrs in. I wonder if it's just different for everyone's experience.

This type of professionalism from the developers is unacceptable from my standpoint and would had never worked in previous generation where you had to deliver quality product on release date and not have the idea: "Release it now, patch it later" idiocy... I'm not even going to look at the game until it's patched properly... which is sad in it's own right. Little mistake that are not ground breaking are understandable and patches are welcome however, a broken game New Vegas is completely boggles my mind how they even got it released is such a state.. I saw enough crashes and bugs at my good friends copy that got him furious enough to return the game in first few hours of gameplay..

I'm playing on a 120g slim and have had numerous freezes, maybe 10 in 50 hours. Also had to reload due to being stuck in "falling" mode inside a road/mountain, this has happened 4 times. framerate drops abound. those are the problems that are frustrating to me. The other stuff is not a problem for gameplay, but some are downright weird. 3 separate times I have emerged from a cave to find a certain species of tree dropping in and out of the ground throughout the entire visible landscape, I lol'd.

I started out having freezes and enemies hiding underground (5 freezes in 30 hours) but it seems to have fixed itself. Even before the patch came out things got better which is pretty weird.

It's gotta be different for everybody, no matter what they do some people are gonna have the bugs, so if you're waiting for it to get patched, guess what, it probably won't be for everybody, since everybodys is different. My copy runs perfectly fine, had no problems at all.
