Fallout 3 is 1 of my favorite games of all time. I've played it for over 200 hours and never had a dull moment. New Vegas is almost EXACTLY like fallout 3 with minor improvements and I don't get why i'm not in love with it! I've played it for about 50 hours only and I have no inclination to play it any further and it's not because of the glitches; fallout 3 was just as glitchy. Maybe its because fallout 3 was a new experience and I was expecting something new from NV as well? Is this the reason why people say cod 4 is the best cod yet? Because cods after cod4 aren't inferior, they just aren't 'a breath of fresh air' like cod 4 was. What do you guys think?

You're not the only one bro. Coming from a guy whos first Fallout game WAS New Vegas, believe it or not, im not lying. I got most of the way thru the game, then i decided to try my hand at FO3, kuz i heard such great things, and i could NOT put it down. Trust me, NV is nothing like Fallout 3, story wise, gameplay is about the same in NV, but not as interesting. Sure theres sum new monsters and what not. But NV really bored the crap outa me, outside of Vegas. The missions just became tedious/repetitive after a while. (though sum would say all FO missions are that way lol). Also on the CoD thing, you may be right, its all the same war games, one after the other. Thats why i try to spend my money on games that take sum.....Imagineering?

just wait a while and buy it for a lower price on e-bay. that way every patch they need to release for this game will be out.

Yeap, about the Fallout 3 -> New Vegas and Call of Duty 4 -> everything after it, you are right. People think that developers will create new engines etc each year, which is way too far from reality. I'm okay with both franchises, I'm sure they'll get a boost sooner or later, but that doesn't mean that I will moan about them and say the developers are bored and they ain't doing anything, because I can understand that it's difficult to always come up with something brand new, but it's easier to slowly but steadily improve what you have.

About Fallout 3 -> New Vegas, I'm the other way around. I like New Vegas more than Fallout 3, even though Fallout 3 was the first I played between those two. It's got a nice variety in weapons and armor, and I'm always experimenting with my character's look and firepower. What I dislike in the Fallout universe, although I know it's just as it should be, is that there aren't any trees or anything different apart from all the destroyed cities, the devastated ground and everything else. I know, a nuclear war would do this (I suppose?), but I just find it dull to look at the environment after some time...

Yep, Fallout 3 in my opinion is superior to New Vegas. Some of the missions in NV aren't really a step up from F3, and some just aren't that interesting. As mentioned before, the Mojave Wasteland isn't quite as fun to explore as the DC Wasteland. The 'new' enemies are unoriginal(What do you get when you cross a coyote and a gecko? A nightstalker! Paint a supermutant blue and it's a nightkin! Even more varieties of Deathclaws to kick your ass coming right up!). Also, there is an abundance of different weapons this time around, but you're really only going to use like 3 as you progress through the game.

What I do kind of like this time around is that Speech and Barter play a pretty significant role, as do most other skill attributes when talking to NPCs. It's really more of the same, but it's still a good game, just void of really anything that new or original. Also, the glitches are terrible in this game, from freezing, to even glitches within missions that prevent you from finishing them.
