As much is i liked fallout 3 i still prefer the Elder Scrolls IV Ovlivion, and i prefer Morrowind over that still haha. They just seem to have more ambience going on to drift me away for hours.
morrowind is the way to go, but out of oblivion and fallout 3 i would say fallout 3, love the ghouls :D and its a little more emontional than oblivion.
Fallout for sure. VATS is a nice option to have. Lockpicking is more fun. The side quests are interesting. You can have allies. I could go on, but I won't.
Only played about 2 or 3 hours of Oblivion so I can't really be a good judge,but I been able to get into Fallout 3 real quick. The begining of it is quite boring tho. Im thinking about going out and picking up Oblivion since I never really gave it a good chance. I've played a good couple hours of Fallout 3 and already think it's one of the best games I played in a long time.

I own and beaten both games and I have to go with Oblivion. If you add in the two add ons the game was just amazing. Don't get me wrong Fallout is as well but there's nothing better than slaying everyone with a sword.
After I got over the initial shock of FO3, I have to say Oblivion is better. I played Fallout 3 1 time and started another game to do some sidequests, but I haven't felt compelled to play it again in quite a while, whereas I've played many different characters in Oblivion.

u can't possibly want VATS in oblivion during attack on the enemies...? tht would be very weird
I love fallout but I would have to choose Elder Scrolls the game had more ambiance then fallout in my oppinion also even if there is less to do in Elder Scrolls I felt like their was more content then in Fallout 3 or let me put it like this it felt less scripted then in Fallout 3 but still both are great and both are definatly worth your dollars ^^
As great as Fallout was, Oblivion is an overall better game to me. I put about 60 hours into Fallout, so I'm done with it for the most part. Fallout was fun, but was glitchy as all hell, the graphics were mediocre when compared to Oblivion and it was just so similar to Oblivion. And no its not Oblivion with guns.

Ewww, no. Bad analogy. FTR Oblivion was not first. There were Fallouts 1+2. Bethesda bought the rights from Interplay. These games have way more creativity than anything Bethesda has come up with. Bethesda just knows how to make things big. So it was a pretty smart move on their part to buy the creativity from some other company. Saved them the trouble of making an original world themselves. If anything Fallout 3 is a hybrid of Oblivion and the Fallout franchise. But it is in no way its son.

Beleive me when I say it is quite gratifying to watch. You'd just have to play Fallout 1+2 to see what I mean. Oh and it was quite deadly.
