far cry 2 88% glitch resolved!!!!!!!!

Fighting a glitch with....a glitch!

What you need to do is get your hands on a mortar and stand right in front of the door of the bar. hold L1 to rest the mortar on the ground and turn your body 180% with the right analogue stick. you'll now pass through the wall due to a glitch!

for some this wont work because ubi soft released a game patch to correct it in early november. but never fear theres a solution to this also. you need to delete this patch for the glitch to work

in the main menu of playstation go to....

data utility > far cry update > triangle button > delete

WARNING ....this will not delete your save file just the patch

Once deleted you'll be asked when you put the far cry 2 game into install patch 1.03 press circle on your controller to skip and it will begin the HDD game installation.

Sadly this is the only effective way to procced in the game. i just wish ubi soft would listen to the out cry of fans out there on the net.

ha dang nice. anyways i hav a question in my sig and also about a trophy: Its called War Party and it says win a match w/ 16 players, do u hav 2 win a deathmatch w/ this?? ThanksJakesta7

No. It can be any match with 16 players. The real trick isn't winning the match. It's playing a game where all 16 players stay in the game. I didn't get the trophy until a random match of TD when I was Rank 8.

I think it's only win a match of 16 players but I'm not sure. I do know there's a seperate trophy for getting the highest XP in a match though.

And I'm sorry but I wouldn't know why you can't make a match. You can always try the official Far Cry 2 forum. The bug might be listed in the PS3 Feedback/Bug Thread

Yeah, it's a pretty common thing. It won't let you go in the door to deliver the tapes to the journalist. So you're stuck. I think it happens if you haven't taken the time to find enough tapes. The real problem is that there is no reason, to that point, to get the tapes so you just go about doing the missions.

It's a major design flaw that allows you to reach a point in the game without making you do what's required to continue past that point. I've heard the motar thing before. So I'll probably have to go on a diamond hunt.

I put the game down for a month after I got stuck. It ruined the game for me.

After much research I got it resolved. I tried deleting the folder with the long hexadecimal name, then the game config XML file, clearing the temp files and updating the video and audio drivers, then re-installing the patch or maybe it was a new patch.....This didn't make any difference.

What works is simply going back to a saved game at about 64% when your mission was to kill two men at the diamond mines. Kill only the one on the right.

In fact this isn't the last mission where you are wise to spare one of 2 men you are sent to kill.

You will be given a new mission that had you killed both you wouldn't have been offerred.

Now you are able to go to the marina when you reach 88% and open the door and interact with the characters but only if you have at least 6 of the tapes.

I'm at 92% now.

I was about to abandon this game but now I'm free at last.

Glitch free on Vista.
