My cousin lent it to me this week and I just can't get into it.... It's very boring driving from location to location... I dunno.... whenever I put it in it feels like a chore because I want to finish it....
Anyone else feel this way?

the game is about driving and exploring, thats the main idea of the game....HellboardWhich is why it's so disappointing that those portions of the game were so frustrating and hampered. Constant checkpoints, an abysmal map system, and continual jeep patrols = frustration and repetition, not freedom.

Then there was the fact that absolutely everyone in the game wanted to kill you...that made going anywhere a life and ammo consuming chore.
I'm liking Far Cry 2. It's a little slower paced than some games, but that's fine with me. I don't get the complaints about the map system - I find it easy enough to use. The checkpoints can get annoying, but for everyone complaining driving everywhere is boring - how would it be without them?
And don't forget to use the buses. That helps.
I don't know if I'd call it boring for myself, I would call it aggravating though. I had to quit the game simply because I was tired of hitting a checkpoint, spending a few minutes to kill everybody, driving down the road a bit, coming back and finding everybody I just killed are alive and shooting at me (again). What's the point in killing anybody if they're just going to respawn not 3 minutes later? Not to mention the constant jeep patrols that are driving up and down the road. It just seems like you can't do anything or go anywhere without having fifteen miniscule, ammo wasting fights between destinations. I find it to be a cheap way to prolong the gameplay and I just didn't see the point.
It's a decent looking game, good AI, but it's just not fun.
"its boring driving around, no action, but the checkpoints (action) are annoying" plz do yourselves a favor and admit you either didnt dish out 60 bucks for the game and u really like it but since u dont own it u feel the need to talk crap about it....half the ppl i see complaining about it either say "i returned it back to my friend" or "i only played it a bit and put it aside (played it at someone else house). anyone who owns the game and takes the time to enjoy it will see that this game is way above any other shooter. once again, "its boring driving around, no action, but the checkpoints (action) are annoying". make some sense.WutTimeIsIt
I'm not going to stand on my soap box and try to sway everyone's oppinion of this game in my favor, but what fun can you get out of a game where the main portion of your time is spent driving around or fighting totaly insignificant battles. Oh but wait you also get the fun task of randomly picking up DIAMONDS that are pointlessly strung around the map. Also to further increase your chances of dying we'll give you crappy weapons that randomly jam up on you in heavy firefights. And we're not done yet....your dying constantly through the game and you have to scavange around and get ahold of drugs to stay alive....now.....GO. It's like watching Crank only it's in the African Savanah and there's no action...and that movie sucked in the first place.
Yes after 30 plus hours I just want it to end dubb55I wanted it to end after spending more than 10 hours on it. I gave up and I put it away.

That's funny. That was my exact analogy. I felt that Farcry 2 resembled washing dishes. Rinse, soap, scrub, rinse, repeat. I beat it cause I have video game OCD. LOL! But, once I completed the game (which failed to make me feel rewarded), I sold it immediately on Ebay for a bargain price.

Looks like everybody's getting the same feeling about this game. I liked it in the first few hours, hoping it could be like FarCry 1. However, it turned out that the more I played it the more I found it leaving the track of FarCry 1. I was quite disappointed and kinda hope it could end soon. When the first map was done, I was quite relieved that it finaly ends, and then there comes the second map, WTF!!!
The most boring thing about this game is that, like everybody's been saying, it is so repetitive. To finish a task basically you need to do the same stuff, take out check points, watch for the patrols, find a buddy, do the buddy's task.......... I have to say in the end it was kinda fun when your buddies betrayed you. But all in all it was too boring and there is not a clear main flow of story, I mean look at this game in general is it a FPS or simply an offline W.O.W.?
Basically this is what the game consisted of: Driving from one point to another to destroy something or someone. Getting shot at while you drive everytime you pass ANY person in the whole map. And finally, getting out of your vehicle to repair it...i think that is probably what i did most lol.Trickedoutps3Yep, that sounds about right. Plus there's the fact that every checkpoint you encounter along the road (for most missions you have to go past at least two if you're driving) consists of 7-10 guys with mounted machine guns and the unusual behavior of wanting to chase you across the entire map and kill you, completely abandoning the post they were supposed to be guarding (by the way, who exactly do the checkpoint guys work for?). By the time you've reached the place to start your mission, you're down to 1 health bar, have about 4 bullets left, and there are probably still a couple of guys in jeeps chasing you down from the checkpoint you went through ten minutes ago. Farcry 2 seems to me like a game that, if given a couple more months of development and beta testing, could have been something truly spectacular...but, as it is now, it just seems rushed.
