Far Cry 2 Vs. Fallout 3. Whats better to YOU?

Now im getting confused. Should i get Fallout 3 or Far Cry 2?

I mean, Oblivion was pretty fun and has unbelievable replay value. Its just that the Fallout 3 looks pretty slow and GRAY (my god) and also no online (no biggie, its a single player game)

Then theres Far Cry 2 that, until recently, i blowed off as "Yet another typical FPS". But Africa is a good environment. Gunplay looks rewarding. Online possibly could be decent. Its just that the replay value is lower that Fallout 3. Also i heard Far Cry 1 was extreamly cheezy.

never played farcry 1 or fallout which ever so i duno

I haven't played any of those, so I can't give you an honest opinion about them... but according to your logic, just because "the game is set on Africa" doesn't mean it'll be good.

And yes, to me Far Cry is yet another FPS with nothing special about it.

idk, gray is soo overdone. Cmon, am i the only one who thinks that this grittiness (as Uncharted called the "Next Gen Filter") is getting old.

I mean, its kinda depressing, yknow.

LPB, MGS4, Uncharted- see games like that are colorful and artistic. I like that better.

I'm definitely getting both.I strongly recommend you get both but if you can only get one I say let be Fallout. You'll get more gameplay(100+ hours) than Far Cry 2 so it will last you longer.

Just to clarify something Far Cry 2 isn't just another FPS it has a map editor, 50 squared km, dynamic weather system and fire propagation.

Not that I'm buying F3 , Bethesda destroyed all that made Fallout a Classic game & IMO the best RPG ever. Freaking censorship and copyrights BS!!

I'm getting both.

Fallout 3 looks fun and will probably have a lot of stuff to do knowing Bethesda.

Far Cry 2 looks also great and considering you can choose from 8 ( I think that was the amount) characters who's got their own ending and that characters ingame will interact with differently sounds very interesting.

Both have been getting amazing reviews ..

I'll think I'll prefer Fallout 3, building character - joining guilds etc

Farcry 2 looks incredible though - you have your own hideout & can play it stealthy .. so I'm buying it after FO3

It really aint ... It's a sandbox, free roam, choices, option to play stealth, hideout etc

Wow, no one has mentioned the level editor in Farcry 2. You all shrug at it, but let me tell you, so did I. However tomorrow I'm picking it up because the single player looks deep and immersive, then I can build my own levels and play online. Fallout 3 is also good, but the Farcry 2 level editor is really deep. Possibly deeper than the single player and possibly deeper than LittleBigPlanet.

Plus as a shooter, Farcry 2 takes it further with more fluent animations, awesome AI which reacts the environment (set the forest on fire and they run) grenades are actually big, you pull shrapnels out of your arm and such. Guns jam and break over time (which is bad, yet cool...).

I love Oblivion, and would probably like Fallout. But my vote goes to Farcry 2 for now. Not that I won't be getting Fallout 3 eventually.

For now, Fallout 3 looks better to me.

I loved Oblivion, and with guns and a great storyline instead of swords and bows, I think Ill love Fallout 3.

Well, I already have farcry 2 so......Fallout 3 but if I didn't have farcry, I would have gotten fallout. Farcry has some serious bugs that make it bad to play online and offline. Fallout 3 is better.

They are both really good games. Because Far Cry 2 has better graphics and gameplay, but on the other hand Fallout 3 has plenty of replayability and a lot more activities to do. But I would go with Fallout 3.

EDIT: After playing Far Cry 1, Far Cry 2 is a far cry (lol) from being good.

get far cry 2, I had oblivion and it pretty much sucked and dont compare far cry 1 to far cry 2 they're gunna be really differentsnowkitty

Don't listen to people who say FC2 is just a generic shooter. There is seriously no other shooter like it on the makret and ign said it as well

You never judge a sequel by the game before it. Far cry 1 and FC2 are nothing alike. They just used the name

I'm a massive fan of fallout 1 and 2. Fallout 3....not so much

I say get FC2. It is refreshing. Each mission, I always attack differently. That is the beauty of it. Nothing is scripted. Most people are used to scripted games and just go about each mission the same. And the african setting gets you immersed.

im just now starting Fallout 3 and it start off real slow and at the moment its boring. I am going to keep playing it and hope it gets better

The only beef I had with FC2 was the traveling but that wasn't even so bad once I got use to hopping on the bus and driving around in the jeeps. The story was meh but the gameplay was pretty fun IMO. It was pretty immersive in the fact that you could plan out your attacks any way you wanted. Damn, thinking bout this makes me kind of want to pop the game back in my system lol.
