IMO Far Cry 2. I love me some open world action. Also, I think the graphics look better than KZ2 expecially if you take into account the size of the world.

Eh, just saying from a technical and artistic standpoint. The graphics in Far Cry 2 are really REALLY good, and that's in a huge open world. Not disparaging KZ2, which also has amazing graphics, but I don't really care for the artstyle, and it's basically a corridor shooter, unlike Far Cry 2. Not that that's a bad thing, but when you take that into account, FC2's graphics seem much better, at least to me.

Im glad you didn't even mention movement. Because KZ2 destroys every game in terms of movement.

In terms of animation, yeah, KZ2 has better animations overall. I really like the FC2 animations for vehicles though.
Far Cry 2 is more "out of the square" to be cliched. Killzone 2 is superior in graphics but a bit blander in terms of environment. They are both great games but I like Killzone better, personally.
both got there stregthns and weaknesses. far cry 2 has the more accurate weapons and is better at keeping u in the first person perspective and even thoguh the story is weak and there isn't much dialogue its still got the better story and voice over work. its got some great post processing effects and lighting as well. however far cry 2 is extremely unfocused its biggest fault is the games to big and takes way to long to get to objectives the enviornments don't always make for the best gunfights either since ur out in the open. i think ill give physics to far cry 2 as well over killzone 2. killzone 2 got better multiplayer better lighting and post processing effects, slightly better A.I. and a decent cover system. and excellent multiplayer maps. on the con side its got a lot of low rez textures especially on the wall you hug alot, the guns are more over exaggerated for dramatic effect horrible dialogue bad story and bad editing of the story too.
if your not phrasing it as your opinion or giving any reason why then your just being a fanboy. with all the people stating it ridiculous to compare the two you can at least come a few reasons why
Far Cry 2 super hyped = Big letdown Killzone 2 = Even more hyped, DELIVERED Honestly comparing these 2 games is like comparing Gears of War with like...Fracture.
Just started playing Far Cry 2 online again after a while away and the've improved it no ends in terms of the size of the maps and items that appear on the map. Got to say I love it, you can hide away in the plants and the graphics and motion are stunning.
Only played a bit of multiplayer on Killzone 2, I have to admit I haven't enjoyed it as much thus far (reminds me a bit of Resistance 2) but to be fair maybe I haven't played it enough.
Both good games, just different IMO with a different feel to them.
I'm not saying Far Cry 2 is a bad game, I just couldn't get into it if you know what I mean, I just found it boring, it was the first game I got for the PS3 (bundle), I got my PS3 in September 08 and I STILL havn't completed it... I might complete it after I 100%/Platinum GTA4.

I have both games. Honestly, I love FC2 singleplayer; I love the pace and the immersive quality. The graphics at times are breathtaking and the controls feel very tight. KZ2 multiplayer is addictive as hell. The graphics are also brilliant, especially on a technical level, but the settings are gloomier and possibly have fewer oppurtunities to be truly awe inspiring. Both are very different experiences, and I dont even think a comparison is appropriate.
