Mine is Infamous. I really like all the villians they make the game feel very epic. The ending was also spectacular. On the other hand how aweosme was Mirrors edge ending. spoilers what that guy says when the helicopter was leaving was epic, and looking over the city was amazing
i liked mgs4's story, of course. valkyria chronicles is another ps3 game with a good story. i rarely compliment the cinematography in videogame cutscenes, but vc had striking imagery. as for characters, heavenly sword had a bunch of standouts.

HS story was awesome and the voice acting was better than most movies
On PS3: Bioshock Overall: Plane Scape: Torment, Shenmue series, Syberia 1 &2, MGS3 &1 and K.O.T.O.R there could be more but these are the ones that currently come to mind.

OOOH, OOOH, OOOH...I forgot to mention the Legacy of Kain and Blood Omen games. Epic and consistent story telling right there.
Final Fantasy X, followed by the MGS series' story as a whole. There are a ton of games I've played that have had amazing stories though. Some other notable ones are Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted, Final Fantasy 7-9, Chrono trigger, Lost Odyssey, Kingdom Hearts, and God of War. I really don't like how more and more games are getting too "be your own character, be good or evil, do whatever you want and make your story" -ish. All the games I have listed above have very linear stories (with the exception of Chrono Trigger). I really hope more developers start going back to more linear, deep stories...
yes i agree that is one of the best stories of any video game!
some others that i love are kingdom hearts 1 and 2, shadow of the colossus, bioshock, valkyria chronicles, and persona 4 (although i havent finished it yet the story so far has been crazy and awesome)

No More Heroes, not even so much for the story but rather the crazy and unique characters you meet along the way. Ocarina of Time also blew my mind as a child. On the PS3, well I've only played 2 games, and obviously one of them is MGS4 and belongs on this list despite not having played any other game in the series.
Shadows of the Collussuss didn't have much of a story but I was so caught into the game I truly felt for the characters. It's weird really, but that was the first game I ever actually made me teary eyed.
is it really even a competition? the obvious answer is MGS4, better than most movies.

MGS4 was just a 10 hour movie with 2 hours of gameplay. And do take note that I didn't get a single word of what the hell MGS4 is about. So I wouldn't consider it my favorite story at all.

I loved Shadow of the Colossus aswell, I really started to question if what I was doing was right, and I got upset when I thought Agro died.
