feels good to be a PS3 owner

I was just talking to my friend about all the things to expect this year and what has already happened and the conclusion we have come to is that it feels GREAT to be a PS3 owner right now. At the end of this year I will be going to all the gamestop's that gave me trouble for owning a Ps3 and slap them... Slap them with facts:

(including multiplats)

MGS4, Home, DMC4, GTA4, Vegas2, XMB, GT5, FF13, GOW3, PlayTV, BLU-RAY WON, Rumble controller, Brothers in Arms, EchoChrome, DBZ(fans only), Tekken 6, Street Fighter, STILL FREE ONLINE, Bluetooth capabilities, removable harddrives, other OS's on the dashboard, you can use pretty much any USB controller or device, dvd upscaling, share media from your pc, and best of all it does NOT SEEM LIKE THE SYSTEM WILL BE DATED ANY TIME SOON!!!!!!!

So who will join me when I go and slap the workers...lol

i dont care what i own as long as i gta 4 i am happy.

Though i gotta say blue-ray winning the format war really makes no difference to me. I don't plan on buying any Blue-ray movies...I'm just fine with dvds right now. And the system graphics engine will probably be dated about a year or 2 from now since technology changes quickly. Though to the average joe schmo he won't tell a difference between them it still will be dated within the next 2 years. FF6fan

1) I only own 3 bluray movies so I understand you on that, But the point of me saying blu ray won the war is huge is because you as a PS3 owner still have the oppurtunity to buy a next gen movie type if you want to, whereas you can have a Hd player that does not serve a purpose now.

2) of coarse there will be a video card that will surpass the Ps3 and 360, I mean that happens at least twice a year, the reason people buy consoles are because they are cheaper. I mean by the 3rd or 4th year devolopers are pushing the systems to the limit... meaning they can make a game that rivals games on the most expensive Pc's. but if you mean dated as in another gaming system will come out in 1 or 2 years now that is crazy to say unless someone else jumps into the market, because Sony is going to stay with this ps3 for a while and so is the wii. I am not too sure about the 360 I give it another 3-4 years before the 720 comes out and I pretty sure that will be BIG.

Right now, it really doesn't feel too good, but if what is predicted comes true, then I just may feel the same way. This needs to happen yesterday.Sauce74

ahh thanks for the site...2 or 3 weeks ago i finally got myself a ps3, i got the forty gig...i know it couldn 't play ps2 games but i ended up givin away my ps2 and all my games to my niece..anyways i got uncharted and that game is freakin awesome but other then that if a game is on 360 too, im just gonna get it on 360.

Oh wow, I didnt know that. I'm sorry, I'm new to the PS3 community. I just purchased a 60g PS3 last night. This is great news! So backwards compatibility, Emotion engine, and what else? I almost bought the 40g one. And to think, this 60gb one that I purchased was cheaper than the 40gb one. I got lucky. I just purchased Ratchet & Clank TOD and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, rented UT3. PS3 is so great. I've been an Xbox 360 owner (as you can tell by my gamertag) for about 3 months now and I'm having fun with it especially on XBL, but the PS3 is going to rock this year. PS3 is having strong and big hit exclusives, MGS4, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, maybe FF13 and versus, and possibly God of War 3. Hey, Gears of War 2 came unannounced with huge news of it's release this November, why cant God of War 3 show up in 2008 as well? If so, this year would be unbelievably nostalgic. Both for PS3 and Xbox 360 owners. Sorry Wii, get some voiceover work and HDTV support and you might just be able to hang with the big boys. If you're wondering, yeah, I owned a Nintendo Wii for a short period of time. I hated it with a passion. Anyways, I feel great too to be a PS3 owner, and an Xbox 360 owner as well. I was beginning to doubt my purchase but it looks like I hit the jackpot to a small degree. My plan was to wait for the MGS4 bundle but I couldnt want any longer. Thanks for the tid bit, Baller72.

Same here, someone put up some scans yesterday and I was already "giddy" just to see those. If at least one of these FF13 titles come out this year, it would be more than enough. :D Although I'm not expecting them to release this year, knowing Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, GT5, and especially MGS4 are coming out in 2008 are already enough.

I have the 40GB model, the 60GB model, and the 80GB model, so yeah, I feel pretty good right now and always.SPD_WeBmAsTaH

yea I use to love Gamestop but after the 360 came out all of them started to give opinions of the system they liked and would bash the other. I for one love my Ps3 but can understand someone getting a 360 or a wii... I just prefer asian type games, but thats me.

It does feel good to be a PS3 owner. I have had one since October and I've been playing it non stop

You know what makes me feel good? Having the system I want and not caring about what others think. Still, I'd love to smack any retailer trying to shove the other console down the fellow consumer's throat (PS3/360/Wii, doesn't matter). I remember when I was looking for a 60 GB PS3 a few weeks back and couldn't find one. All the retailers were saying, "Oh no, we don't have anymore of those. Why don't you get a 360 instead? It's a better system and" blah blah blah blah. I honestly wanted to shove my size twelve Jordan sneaker down their throats, but I thought "They'll call me a 360 basher if I do that". So I either told them "no thanks" or "I already have a 360, sorry". PS3 vs 360 isn't the question, rather "Aren't you guys making profit regardless? Why can't you just support my decision and sell me the product I want w/o hassle?" Retailers in NY have a bad habit of assuming that every consumer is the average gamer.

Edit 2: I had to change casual gamer into average gamer just to make myself clear there. The average gamer usually needs an opinion from the retailer or someone else as far as figuring out which system or game they should get, while a gamer like myself does his/her research and makes the best choice for their personal benefit. Casual gamers would pick up the Wii, not the 360. PS3 and 360 are both hardcore gamer choices.

I can't say that I feel your enthusisiam.. Blu Ray won.. whoppy, it's not even that worthy of a jump. Watch lord of the rings se on regualr dvd and then watch any blu ray movei.. There is NO difference. Most of the games are coming out for both consoles, so no advantage there. As for MGS, GT5, these, for me, have been mediocore at best. Online is free for a reason, it is terrible.

All in all, sony needs some really good and NEW exclsuvies which sadly in my opinion, they don't.. GT5 will be good but I hope it's not as big as a dissappointment as GT4. GT3 was awesome though.

I am looking forward to Ninja Gaiden 2, Gears of War 2, Fable 2, GTA4 and others.

I feel ya brotha.. I don't know what the hype about hte wii is.. To me, it's nothing special whatsoever.. They talk about innovation, Bull@#$@.. every game plays the exact same.

I agree. I love my new PS3 (which I've had a few weeks now). I always new I was going to own one, I was just waiting for the price to be right. I have the 40GB version and lack of backwards compatibility doesn't bug me as I have my PS2 mini sitting right next to my PS3. :)

Right now things are going really well for Sony and the PS3 and to think....the truly killer exclusives haven't even been released yet! Sure, Ratchet and Clank is an amazing Sony franchise but they were all underlooked. Funny thing is I think they are way better games than the MGS games, but not as popular or well known.

That being said, I can't wait for big name exclusives: final fantasy, god of war, gran turismo, MGS.

1. Online is improving and Home is on the way.

2. MGS = mediocre? I don't think so. MGS4 will be brilliant. Other than that there's GT5, Resistance 2, Final Fantasy XIII & Versus XIII, Haze, Killzone 2, God of War 3, LittleBigPlanet, and that's among other great exclusives coming out this year if I'm not mistaken.

Simple.

I'm a multi-console owner and so far 360 has been my platform of choice. However, there are a ton of great games coming out on PS3 this year.

I attended the play.com live event in the UK this past weekend and they were showing a new video of Little Big Planet. WOW! That game looks absolutely amazing. I cannot wait to play it. I've also recently pre-ordered GT5 Prologue and am really looking forward to getting to grips (no pun intended) with that game.

MGS4 a little later on in the year too! All in all '08 looks like being a great year for Sony and the PS3.

But in the end I feel much worse for my mom who got her safe full of jewelery stolen :x.

i own all three and right now i have 2 wii games no ps3 games and about 30 xbox 360 games. wii or ps3 needs to step it up with xbox 360 achievement points and download content (only on xbox will gta 4 have download content) there is no reason to buy anything but blu ray movies for my ps3. and with superior online service through xbox live theres no competition. sony has really let me down
