I actually liked this game. It reminded me of Kingdom Of Fire, an Xbox title I had before I traded all of my xbox stuff in for a ps3... xD I actually enjoyed the massive battles, and after a while I got a feel for it. I tried using the basic footmen at first, and they can handle taking down commanders and stuff alot easier than the horsemen, but they move WAY too slow. So I just switched over to horseback and owned everything that moved. I dunno, I might be the only one who spent so long on the first mission just screwing around that I had the English controlling everything except the entry points (that I figured out can't be siezed after afew pointless days of trying to get the commander to come out)
For the demo, I'd give it a 6.5/10 =X
P.S.: I love making my own char :D
its like dynasty warriors except you have a big group of men. i thought the demno was great but it would be better if there was more men. i have 2 groups of men killed in a few seconds which i dont find fun. i want a whole field filled to the edges with men that i can kill.
then i want to get a giant elephant and run them all over
I guess its a game that Kessen fans would like. Like I said the game have flaws, but it had a lot of potential. Still even with the flaws I thought the game was really fun. One of you guys said that it didn't really matter what type of troops you choose, well I disagree with that. If you tried to fight calvaries with ground troops you will see that the dmg done on them is very little and you will soon find yourself flying in midair all the time. I thought the best way to fight calvaries was to get troops with shield abilities, archers, or use calvaries against them as well. And if you tried using regular ground troops that uses swords against armored axe troops you wouldn't stand a chance, unless you were using calvaries, had bladestorm on, or have a lot of useful special moves at your disposal. So I thought the game provided a lot of depth in gameplay and strategy, though in some cases its not true.
There is something Bladestorm has that Dynasty Warriors lacked. Dynasty Warriors is all about using one man to kill thousands and thousands of other men on screen and that is really cool. That is why a lot of people love the game. But war wasn't fought like that back then. Its all about gathering troops, planning out strategies, fighting in big numbers, and doing traps. Bladestorm may not have all of that, but its heading there.
Hopefully some people would agree with me on this, because as for now a lot of gamers are getting a bad impression on the game.
yea, Ifeel the same way. Fun game, but I wouldnt mind an AI update. Great game, but even for the missions they gave you, it didnt seem like there was any point in time that I actually had to retreat for some reason or another, because some of the enemies were just standing there.
Im probably gonna pick this up eventually, just not right away, fun game, and I love koei, but I have games more worthy of the 50-70 bucks its gonna cost.
