This is probably the only game that will ever hold enough interest for me to attempt to get a platinum. I'm currently running through the game (chapter 10) and I was wondering if the platinum was possible on the first playthrough? Or do I have to start all over to get the platinum?

It takes an extremely long time to platinum. I'm not sure if it's possible on the first playthrough or not, but you will spend a LOT of time in chapter 11 if you try for it.

Beat the game, then worry about the platinum. I'm working on it now and the only trophy I have left is "Hold every weapon and accessory in the game."

It requires a lot of farming/grinding post-game.

Fortunately, you can do everything in one playthrough so you don't have to worry about playing through the whole game again just to get one little thing.

Once you beat the game it lets you save and reload right before the final boss so it lets you go back and do sidequests for the Plat on the same save file. I'd recommend beating the game first then worry about the Plat because its definitely a very time consuming Plat.

It really doesn't seem too hard at all. Just time consuming. The only trophy that might be hard is 5-Starring all missions. Everything else just takes time.

I don't understand how you guys are getting the platnimum in this game. I mean that one trophy called limt breaker where you have to do over 200,000 (or is it 100,000?) with one hit is crazy. My characters are all maxed out on their main roles and well into there secondary roles and I can't even come close to doing that kind of damage. Then there is the missions my hp is around 20-27k. Some of those guys you have to kill easily take you down with ease. I wanted to plat this game but gave up in frustration.

I keep hitting 99,999 with Smite when they are in the air. To get 100,000+ you need
The genji gloves, i believe from one of the cieth missions
I remember getting that trophy when I cast death on Neochu. I think using death on a high hp monster works for the trophy unless I'm wrong. Other than that, if you get to the point where you're farming adamantoise without using death, you'll do that much damage and a lot more.

Well thats what im talking about. How do you get to that point? Like I said my main roles are maxed and welled into the secondary ones. Yet I can't get close to that kind of damage? Yet other people say they are doing it with ease. I must be missing something here.

SPOILER

well you HAVE to beat the game first with stage 9 roles maxed. after the first playthrough, crystal stage 10 unlocks, which is where most stat boosts come from.then you gotta grind for cp tomax all the roles for each characters and you will need gil to get the treasure hunter trophy.

don't sell any elemental rings... moreover, don't sell ANY accessories. also, you need to beat all the missions with 5 star ranking, that's really tough.. for some missions. which means, you have to max out all the roles for sure and make sure 3 of your best characters have omega weapons. (fully upgraded weapons).

good ways to farm gil .. 1.) before beating the game, kill sacrifices in chapter 13 in the beginning, rinse and repeat for perfume and catalyst. 2) after you get uber strong from maxing out crystals, aim for Adamantoise in Eden for ingots and traps

It depends on the monster you fight and staggering. A monster at a stagger point of 999% you will do 10times more damage than a monster at stagger point of 100%. Then if you put bravera, attack with elemental weakness, put deprotect, and imperial on the enemy you can easily do 999999 damage with Fang's Highwind ability. And that attack hits two or three times so easily 2 or 3 million damage with ONE attack.

First thing you need is a genji glove which comes from one of the missions. It might of been that Neochu one. Anyways, I'm too lazy to look this stuff up. Just stating things from memory. You'll have to look that up. After getting that, you should look up how to farm adamantoise in eden.

My method was using the fang, hope, and vanille team up. Using a gaian ring which deducts 40% earth damage might help you a lot but i didn't use that until well after learning how to farm adamantoise. Since I didn't have that I put some phy res items on my party. I put str items on fang to make her as strong as possible. It'd definitely help to upgrade fang's weapon. You should try a number of accessories that give auto haste or auto bravery(for fang). the bravery really helps if you're str stat is low. Gengi glove on fang.

the paradigms go in the order of Fang Hope Vanille.

sab rav rav to build up chain on a leg. whenever its about to stomp switch to sen (having a sentinel cuts the damage in half) med med. switch back until you stagger it but make sure the percentage goes high enough for one highwind to kill the leg. to highwind(fang's skill), you'll need to switch to com rav med(i found that having a med here helped heal for the second leg). If you have trouble killing the leg, you should try different accessories. same method for other leg. the moment right after you kill the second leg, switch to syn rav sab and cast haste on everyone starting with vanille so she can get debuffs on the toise. then bravery on fang and faith on the other two. disregard your hp if its low since you'll want to kill it before it can attack again. after buffing check that the toise has deshell deprotect and imperil on it. if it hasn't appeared yet, just wait for it. switch to com rav rav and unload on it. once its staggered you should build the percent up to maybe 800. the percent is really up to how you're doing. You can switch to com com com afterwards and unload on it. You can highwind when the toise is near death or you can choose not to. I found that when i timed highwind wrong the stagger disappeared and i was screwed.

It took me a bunch of tries before I killed it for the first time. All this is based off my memory which is hazy since I haven't played FFXIII since I platinumed it. Their might be something wrong with my strategy so make sure to adjust to something that makes sense.

Its all do able in 1 playthrough, but you REALLY have to like the game to do it. I think its like 100 hours of gameplay just because you have to fully upgrade everyone. Not easy, and not short.

It's possible, but I kind of gave up on it. I don't have the time to invest in getting the platinum right now. I'd rather play other games first before worrying about it.

Just use bahamut. He can easily do over 100k. No limit for summons.

FIRST beat the game as it opens level 5 roles. Which are beyond 1-4. Once you beat the game you are saved right before the boss and can continue doing whatever you want. At this time all you should have left to do is complete all items, all missions, and max all characters. This took me 109 hours and i suggest finding a item guide that you can check off of to make sure you have every item.

DO NOT sell any rings as some, the elemental ones, cannot be bought back and will forever be gone resulting in a new playthrough just to get the plat.

A good example of a grind for CP/Money is mission 63. Look this up for more information, but i found this to be the best mission to farm. This including the Growth Egg which also comes from a mission.

I planned on getting the platinum in this just from passion for Final Fantasy, but the treasure hunter trophy is just BS. Earning gil takes far too long and farming certain materials gets old considering the methods you have to do each. I eventually decided to move on and play the 10 games sitting on my shelf I haven't had time for, but I might head back some day...

NOTE: You can do it in one play through, but DO NOT sell any of the elemental resistance rings, charms, etc. It's possible to miss the treasure hunter trophy if you do.

I got the platinum. Its possible on first playthrough. I recommend farming the adamantoises first before completing the 6 Mission stones in that archylte steppe as they turn into stronger version of admantoises. Because of that i had to go elsewhere to find them and took me hours but i got it finally. 71 Hours =).

i got my platinum on the first playthrough.. only playthrough you can do really since there is no new game plus it took me about 127 hours, I didn't do any of the tricks like splitting tier 3 weapons and all that jazz I just farmed and farmed.. those turtles got so old to fight though. would have been nice to add different ways to make gil that weren't so tedious.

**** this game's trophies. -there is no way in hell i was going to spend 50+ hours farming...hoping...praying for enemies to drop items -if the enemies dropped gil it would be one thing. but you just have to hope they drop what you need to sell I finished the game and then all the missions and said **** it Such an annoying set of trophies

The only thing stopping me going for plat in this game is the trophy for holding every weapon/acc, as I have no interest in going back to figure which ones I don't have. I don't see how anybody can get a plat on their first playthrough since you can only get the ability to get level 5 jobs after you beat the game. My only post game goals were to get every job at level 5, finish all the stone missions, and get that 100,000 damage point trophy.

This plat is easy, but takes a lot of time... (i think i needed like 90 hours) because of the item / money farming.
