First thing you need is a genji glove which comes from one of the missions. It might of been that Neochu one. Anyways, I'm too lazy to look this stuff up. Just stating things from memory. You'll have to look that up. After getting that, you should look up how to farm adamantoise in eden.
My method was using the fang, hope, and vanille team up. Using a gaian ring which deducts 40% earth damage might help you a lot but i didn't use that until well after learning how to farm adamantoise. Since I didn't have that I put some phy res items on my party. I put str items on fang to make her as strong as possible. It'd definitely help to upgrade fang's weapon. You should try a number of accessories that give auto haste or auto bravery(for fang). the bravery really helps if you're str stat is low. Gengi glove on fang.
the paradigms go in the order of Fang Hope Vanille.
sab rav rav to build up chain on a leg. whenever its about to stomp switch to sen (having a sentinel cuts the damage in half) med med. switch back until you stagger it but make sure the percentage goes high enough for one highwind to kill the leg. to highwind(fang's skill), you'll need to switch to com rav med(i found that having a med here helped heal for the second leg). If you have trouble killing the leg, you should try different accessories. same method for other leg. the moment right after you kill the second leg, switch to syn rav sab and cast haste on everyone starting with vanille so she can get debuffs on the toise. then bravery on fang and faith on the other two. disregard your hp if its low since you'll want to kill it before it can attack again. after buffing check that the toise has deshell deprotect and imperil on it. if it hasn't appeared yet, just wait for it. switch to com rav rav and unload on it. once its staggered you should build the percent up to maybe 800. the percent is really up to how you're doing. You can switch to com com com afterwards and unload on it. You can highwind when the toise is near death or you can choose not to. I found that when i timed highwind wrong the stagger disappeared and i was screwed.
It took me a bunch of tries before I killed it for the first time. All this is based off my memory which is hazy since I haven't played FFXIII since I platinumed it. Their might be something wrong with my strategy so make sure to adjust to something that makes sense.
