I just kinda wished this wasnt' my first FF game, cuz I got this terrible first impression that would make me think twice before I buy FF game or any hyped game for that matter .

I could give it some credit for the game-play but story is strange somehow and you'd have to listen carefully for each dialogue ( or read) . I dunno I just didn't like this game .

I guess such type of games are suitable for teenagers and kids . Hence T for teens.

dont let Crisis Core sway you away from other Final Fantasy games. It is one of the worst FF games. It should not be able to bear the FFVII name. Its not a really bad game, but its no Final Fantasy. The only reason this game is good is because the story ties in with VII. Other than that it is a very bland game. The main Final Fantasy games are way, way better than Crisis Core. All of the spin offs are sub-par games. You should try any of the PSOne FF's. They are all great.

Trivia: you completely misunderstand the purpose of ESRB ratings, apparently. That, plus saying that a story that requires a lot of attention being better suited for kids, makes for a pretty unintentionally humorous post...

How exaclty do you go about stereotyping the age range? I'd like to know your logic.

If Crisis Core was too complex for you, don't take his advice to play the PSone games, those will go wayyy over your head then. For a portable game, Crisis Core was amazing. Considering God of War for 40$ lasts you 5 hours?

It was a decent spin off for once that actually expanded on the story of a character that was barely told about in FFVII and only glimpsed in Advent Children. Its not crap, its just that either:

1. RPGs aren't your type of game or...

2. You dislike change.

I just finished Crisis Core and I thought it was great. It's definitely geared more towards people who played FFVII though. Your logic is pretty flawed though, maybe you should just go play big rigs if you want a simple game suitable to your intelligence level.

I may have not put a lot of thought into what I wrote . I was kinda writing out of hatred towards such a game that requires a hack and slash kinda style throughout the whole game. A game that "anyone" could play without much of a strategy required ( unlike other strategy RPGs that I enjoy a lot) . And yeah I had to pay attention for every single words uttered cuz it's my FIRST FF game, and ALSO for the fact that this one is a prequel to FF7 .

I know enough about ESRB that it's based on the content of the game (violence, sexuality) rather than the game-play itself. I thought also that when a game is rated M , they would increase the level of intelligence in the game .

you people should stop saying "i liked it because i'm new to the series" because its totally meaningless. if you would be an old fan you think you would be hater ? thats the most stupid and the most biased thing ever.

and i dont understand "i'm an old style FF fan, i have to hate new style FF games". ff7 was good at its time yes but now its the crappiest game ever. graphics are beyond terrible, annoying so often random encounters, slow and boring battle system etc. if anyone defends that battle system, there are so many greater battle systems which is still turn-based and includes more strategy.

stop dwelling in the past and accept the change and leave die-hard fans behind and their whinings

my message is not for defending FF7:CC. it may be bad or good i dont care till i play it myself but meaningless comments drive me nuts.

M rated games in no way imply intelligence (consider Manhunt); Final Fantasy games are almost always pretty easy for the main storyline and only have really difficult stuff as optional side missions. If you want the game to offer more strategic challenge, you should check out the side missions. The ones marked Very Hard almost all require strategic planning and gameplay and very few of those can be easily hack n slashed through.

They did try to wax poetic a little too often , but I thought the story was fairly simple to understand.

First, Crisis Core can only be enjoyed in Hard. Normal is just a "Press X to kill whatever comes in front of you game".

Second. Most JRPGs focus on story, so if you attention span is short, forget about it. Especially, games as Final Fantasy have a much stronger focus on story than most of the others. Be it a political story as in Tactics and XII or dramas as in VII-X. I think that you are more used to WRPGs, were the story is just an excuse for you to be killing enemies, or you have played the non important JRPGs as Atelier Iris or Pokemon, were the story is not that important.

I guess that games as the SMT series will be even far from possible to you.

I feel the story is great due to the reason that I had tried all FF7 series games. But the game is kind of short and the battale frequency is not much. The main story will cost you just less than 10 hours. I had to play MISSIONS TO PROLONG the playing time even I don't like fighting too much enemy.

well thats true for difficulty lovers but some people play it just for the story and cool moves so easiness is not so bad, its for greater audience.

but i must disagree with your wrpg ideas, because of its generalization. there are so many great games that Planescape: Torment takes the lead for its almost perfection.

Crisis Core is seriously the most overrated game on the PSP. Granted they have a well established reputation, the production values are high with some of the best graphics seen on the handheld, stellar voice acting, pretty good music etc. But it's all flash and no substance. The waves of enemies are endless and they spawn at every footstep, it's so monotonous and BORING. I wish people could see through the uninspired, dull gameplay and story. But no, all they see is Final Fantasy, and apparently that is all they need for the game to be awesome. The combat system didn't work in Parasite Eve so why did they think it would work here? :?

It's like every FF fan has already decided they liked the game before even playing it, and when they finally play it they're too blinded by nostalgia to really see the game's flaws.

Couldn't agree more, and for those who doesn't know, for their information, there're tons of japanese gamers who criticised Crisis Core of the repetitive battle and DMW system, THUS , MONSTER HUNTER PORTABLE 2 and 2G outsold Crisis Core in Japan by a 2 to 1 margin.

MHP2 ( 1.95mil copies ) , MHP2G ( 1.5mil so far , 2 mil shipped ) ,

and Crisis Core , ( Only 1.01mil , including lots of dissapointed buyers )

No Offence , but Crisis Core is really overrated.

Thats because the japanese version doesn't have hard mode, so the game over in japan would just be you pushing the x button for 20 hours to hack away, so the criticism is quite understandable.

Hard mode on the U.S version however deserves the score given to it, easily one of the best and most satisfying handheld real time j rpgs.

Well until kingdom hearts comes out for psp.

I must have really weird taste then because the first parasite eve has been one of my favorite game ever. Chrysler tower was just plain fun and challenge
