I am 14 hours into the game and I'm having some money issues. The monsters don't drop any money just junk. From buying a few potions and phoenix downs I quickly go bankrupt. Then if I want to buy some accessories or weapons i'll definately go broke. And then ofcourse there is the scrap shot where you can purchase junk to upgrade your weapons. How are you supposed to do all this when the only time you get money is from random treasure orbs in the game? Is there an easy way to make money in this game?

well the potions and phoenix downs i stopped buy after I got some of my characters to be medics. However the fact still remains that buying stuff in the shops are crazy expensive and you have little incoming cash flow to upgrade/buy new weapons.

I just don't get it. Why add all this upgrading weapons, and scrap yard, weapons and items shot if you can hardly buy anything. Very frustrating.

Why are you buying weapons and accs. 95% percent of the stores carrywhat you find in the maps. you should be getting incentive chips $2500 or another chip that goes for $500 from soldiers.

Yeah this is where your money should be coming from. They aren't useful for upgrading so it should be obvious you would sell them. I actually haven't ever had a problem with money. I was a bit short when I wanted an accessory that costed 100,000 but then I found the item anyways.

I have only bought once from the stores for a phoenix down. I just use my roles like the medic or synergist in order to heal my party. So it shouldn't be difficult to conserve money.

Some of the parts you get from mobs can be sold for money. (that's their only purpose, because they can't be used for upgrade). These are parts like credit chips and premium chips and incentive chips I think. They sell for good money and only upgrade like 1 exp.

you really don't need money.

i finished the game with minimum upgrades.(max weapon lvl.13)

i recommend you take some time to expand the crystarium and learn how to use the paradigm more effectively.

at chapter 11 you'll have lots of chances to make money though, perfumes and chips are the best.

i ended the game with 1.200.000 gil , so you can see money is not important ...lol

first of all I never had any issues with money in the game and I'm in chapter 11 now. All you need is a understanding of the game. it doesn't matter what weapon you choose to upgrade since they all are equally strong just focus on other things. Sure there are some weapons that fits classes better than others, but weapon upgrades aren't really important, not even here in chapter 11. I guess just wait till you reach chapter 10/11, choose a weapon that fits the style you play the character and start upgrading them by first using natural things to improve the multiplicator and use technical to get a lot of EPs. I actually upgraded the weapon of Vanille to max. level by using 40 "giant bones" and 15 "Supraleiter" (playing it german, no clue how they are called in english). You don't need any items at all, if you do, you didn't get the whole class changing thing. Create good combinations and you'll get through the game with no problems. If you really need money to buy stuff (like when you first get the ATK/MAG +50 / +100 and you really want them) you can just sell some materials or accessories you don't really need (like the one which gives 10% elemental resistance and sells for 60k). All information regarding about the middle of chapter 11, don't really know where you are with 14hours in it, but if you haven't reached chapter 8 you might farm money there

10 or 15 hours should have been plenty of time to figure out what the game design is essentially trying to show you. The only real use for money is to buy scraps to upgrade and that will take you some researching and experimenting to figure out how to efficiently do it.
