I was just wondering if when you finish FF13 can you start over with all your loot and stats from the previous play through through? Kind of like in Demons Soul? Reason i'm asking is that I was browsing through the FF13 trophy list and I see one there called "Limit Breaker" , where you have to deal 100,00+ damage in on hit.

Now I'm up to chapter 9 and nearing the end of the game I supposed, yet my charactes hit for around 500 pre stagger. I don't see how in less than 3 chapters I can get my character so strong that one hit deals 100,000+ damage, unless i'm missing something.

You're only about halfway through the game. Got at least another 15-20 hours left (and that's if you rush Chapter 11 - the area full of missions/sidequests/good places to grind and make money). Most people will finish in about 40-45hr. And no, there is no New Game+ mode. Maxed out at the end of the game, I can do over 1 mil damage with certain moves (during certain times; Highwind, if it hits more than once); at least 999,999 though. Need Genji gloves to get over 99,999.

Ohh realy? So chapter eleven is not short like all the other ones? Side quest? Now you got me salivating. Good to hear though cuz i was getting afraid that if i am currently doing only 500 damage and I have to hit an enemy for 100,00 plus then i'd be doooomeeeeddd.

Chapter 11 is, by far, the longest chapter in the game - even if you skip every optional thing to do in the chapter (which I don't recommend doing). Yeah, you can come back later in Chapter 13 (and after you beat the final boss), but I still recommend doing some of the optional stuff while you are in Chapter 11. Like getting Chocobo access, doing at least the first 20 or so missions (can do more after you unlock Stage 9 of crystarium), grind some CP (there's several good spots and most of them are easy) or some gil. Make some Speed shoes (auto-haste) which is amazing for short battles (most regular encounters) and grinding. So much to do. I mean, sure you can go on with the story when you reach the open part of Chapter 11, but it was refreshing to just mess around.

I'm nearing the end of Chapter 13 and my party usually does 20,000-30,000 damage while staggered.

I didn't do any of it on this first play through. I think I'll do it on my next play through.

When you finish the game it will ask to save your progress. If you load that one you will start at the last save point before the final battle with level 5 unlocked. From there, you can go back to Gran Pulse to do all the hunting stuff and level up to the maximum level which is 5. I have not maxed out my characters yet but they can do between 40K and 80K of damage when the enemy is staggered. Of course it depends on the enemy.

Clearly you haven't played this game much. With a Genji Glove, my Fang manages to hit 999,999 on a Long Gui as well as a ShaoLong Gui with Highwind. Normal attacks are around 340k when staggered.

You'll be able to do that much damage pretty easily later in post game. You can also get this trophy if the death spell insta kills. Thats when I got the trophy when I killed Neochu with Vanille's Death spell. But yeah other than that.. Genji Glove, Buffs, Debuffs, 999%stagger, Fang's Highwind is all you need.

Wow. FF13 ends in 13 chapters? Although ironic to it's numeric name, I find myself in shock, sorta. I'm on Chapter 10, only because I lost my old game save which was also Chapter 10. I put in 35 hours into game only because I had to replay it. I just didn't think it would end so soon.. Only 3 chapters to go.. hmmm

So pretty much when I get to chapter 11 (im on 10 now), I can hold off on the main story and do side quest and other stuff to fully upgrade my characters before I move on?
