I don't have MGS1 on my PSP (I just have a hard copy), but I did buy Final Fantasy VII and I think it plays incredibly well on the PSP. The polies look a little crisper on the PSP and it is nice to have such a great game on my hand held.

i got both and they both look and play great

only problem is with MGS since there are only 2 shoulder buttons

but if you just switch the buttons it works just as well (i cant mess with the analog stick in the thick of battle :P)

I think FFVII plays better on the PSP, but MGS1 is a better game. You'd just have to customize the conrols like I did :D

Like everyones said, they both play great. The smaller screen really lets the PS1 classics shine.

Go with the one you want more.

you don't need to downgrade to play these, they've both been released as PS1 classics on the PlaystationStore.
