i have the original disk version of FF8 yet i cant get it to work on my ps3. it just goes blank and i have to restart it. i have the latest version firmware so i dont know wats wrong? p.s. warhawk .......(words fail me).

Yah i have a canadian 60gb ps3 with the ee i bought it in april and for some reason my copy of mgs3 works on my ps2 but not 3.

He means that Warhawk left him speechless. I had a similar problem where MGS3 didn't work. I traded it for a new copy, that one worked fine. Funny thing is that neither copy had any scratches.

I replayed FFVIII last month with pretty much no problems on a US 60gb. The only problem was posted on the Sony compatibility list, and was merely a glitched battle transition screen on the world map. Instead of being yellow/orange/red streak it's just black, but after the transition it goes into battle normally.

I thought you were going to say you kept falling asleep. I've had that problem with it since the first time I played it on the PSX.

Just thought I'd let you know, FF8 was one of the 2-ish% of games that did not work even with the EE chip in, :(

Apparantly and from what i've gathered off other forums FF8 plays on non PAL playstations fine (with a few ecceptions).Which is bad for us in europe:x But what ya gonna do.

I tested it out on disk 4 a few months ago, playing around with remote play. no problems, EE PS3.

I have the same problem, TC. PAL format, 60GB PS3, Original FF8 (not platinum). I had to use my good old PS2 for this game.

It works perfectly fine on my 60GB and 20GB. What PS3 model do you have? You probably don't have full B/C or none at all.
