with a score of 9.5, FIFA 11 is hailed by IGN UK as the most refined experience the franchise has yet to offer and possibly the genre defining title. the statement below sums it up nicely -

"EA Sports'FIFA 11is a similar proposition; there are no grandstand new features to dazzle and no major upheavals to the existing formula, but that doesn't stop it from being the best FIFA yet and by extension perhaps the best football game there's ever been."

so, football fans... what are you waiting for? it's kick off time! see you on the pitch :D

it's a football game, hence IGN UK is naturally the better judge ;)

i don't question the quality of gameplay offered by the PES franchise, but i was never a fan. at the very least, the production value of FIFA will always be higher than that of PES... and with FIFA recent innovations i believe the franchise is now head and shoulder above its Konami counterpart.

Yeah so far fifa is doing my head in, player disappearing in arena before match, game freezes at vital moments during a match, audio skips, feels exactly like 2010 only more frustrating 7/10 only becaue fifa 10 was so good even with its keeper bugs and easy chips long shots soo looking forward to pes 11 now

Finding it hard to like at the moment. So far 09 has been my favourite.

Few issues:

- Freezing - 2-3 second freeze during a match

- Be the Goalkeeper - Out of 10 matches ive only had to save a few attempts and even then the ai didnt shoot it just ran the ball at me. The rest of the time ive just stood in one place.

- Career Progression - In 09 i was used to getting experience points at the end of matches which i could spend on improving different areas (ie shooting, passing). Thats gone and its not automatic.

Also at the start of a new career it says im a reserve but im picked to play in the first team for all games.

- Online - Tried getting into a game, but have a 30-50second freeze at the team selection, after it appears to unfreeze i can see my opponents name and see them selecting a team, but i cant do anything. After about another 10-20 seconds my opponent quits.

As it is now i give it a 7 out of ten, i give Fifa 09 a 9 out of 10.

I'll be picking both this and PES 11 up most likely. I'm a long time PES fan but judging by the demos I think FIFA has it this year. PES's new passing system is rather interesting though.

Firstly I have to agree with that

Picked my copy up at midnight launch and loved what I've played so far. A more refined football experience that every felt before for sure.

Has anyone tried pro ranked online? Do we still have to wait 2 minutes for people to choose positions? Since idiots always delay waiting for people to leave to get their positions. Also is there any rating for teammates(ie rate how people play online)? And are we still forced back to the main menu after online games? It'd be nice to stay with teammates and get straight into another match sometimes instead of chugging through the menu system after every match.

So GS give the game 9/10 and yet again, almost nothing about online. I could've used a lot more info about online.
