Final Fantasy is a franchise I respect more the any other game.

I won't accept anything less, great news.

Oh well that was a silly thing to say by the dev.
Now if the game's graphics don't totally destroy every other title visually (on the 360 mainly) my purchase would be in vain :(
Then all the 360 fanboys will be using that against us, boo boo boo, bad move.

But then again the 360 hasnt used its full potential too so maybe in the end the graphics for the ps3 will still be better than the xbox 360 full potential. Considering they are using the engine which can run on the 360 but they are using full use of the cell CPU so we all now know that final fantasy 13 and versus 13 will be a ps3 exclusive! If it was coming out for the 360 it will cost a lot more money to port it over unless they do it the cheap way (like EA), it will be just laggy as hell.

NO - Just because one dev is using all of PS3's power doesn't mean the end result is what the PS3 can do in graphics. Graphics also depend on the dev's ability to actually produce good quality graphics, and also depends on what look they're aiming for - animation, photorealistic, etc. So even if it doesn't blow everything else away, do not despair. The PS3 is well capable of solid performance in the graphics area. Look for Killzone 2 next year - should have good graphics.

Everytime SE moves from one generation to the next of console hardware, the visual quality of their games JUMPS big time.

It happened with Final Fantasy VII and it happened again with Final Fantasy X.

The PS3 is a LOT more powerful than the PS2 so I expect them to be able to pull off some pretty amazing things.

With regards to the engine they're using for this game, it's called the White Engine and it is full optimized for the Cell Broadband Engine that powers the PS3.

The game that they are creating with the Unreal 3 Engine is The Last Remnant.

I'm patiently waiting for the PS3 to start dropping some really good RPG's. I have a good feeling that FF13, and FFv13 will be well worth the wait. I don't mind the wait because the PS3 has some really good action/adventure/platformers out right now.

The developer did say that its like a big leap from final fantasy 6 (snes) to final fantasy 7 (ps1), and at the time, everyone loved the graphics soooo much that it sold millions easy. So final fantasy 13 and versus 13 will be a big jumper from final fantasy 10, 11, 12.

and thats just on that engine, at an early stage in the PS3's life, everything is only going to keep getting better for at least 5 years. i mean we already have pretty much teh top 3 best looking console games, Uncharted, Ratchet & CLank Future, and Heavenly Sword.americahellyeah

I agree with Uncharted, but R&C and Heavenly Sword are no where near top 3 best-looking games. That's laughable. And it's funny how you didnt include MGS4 which is easily Top 3.

People talk about how the PS3 is in it's early stage. It's only a year behind the Xbox 360 so as early as the PS3 is in it's lifespan, the Xbox 360 has just as much potential to push its limits. People make the one year launch difference sound like a decade. There are no excuses. I would like the PS3 to really show it's true power since it's hardware is unique. But I know the Xbox 360 will not disappoint either.
