Final Fantasy 13 release date and expectations

I hope they announce the release date soon, I think they will give us new information about the game at E3.

It should be good. Unfortunately no real details or release info have been released. SE has been emphasizing worldwide releases though recently. Also they said that this game will be the first to max out the ps3 hardware. Hopefully there wil be more info at E3, but i am guessing we will have to wait till TGS.HideoFox

I predict fall 2009 in japan and spring 2010 in US and EU. FF games are always late.TheFlush

no impossible, they all ready said worldwide release and the game is already materialized so probably late this year or early next year so that there will be room for versus

Does anyone no a set date that FF13 is to be released cause the last thing i read it was suppose to be Dec.1 but idk? And i was just wanting some feedback about wat you all think this game will be like cause to be i think that it will be one of the best out therecloud-squallroc

Square-enix NEVER say the right release date, they are always delaying everything. So since the game is not even at 50% completed, it's completly impossible that FF13 will pop this year. Do not wait for it, it's not gonna pop before half of 2009. At least, if you consider how all the other final are popping. They can't pop one game per year, lol. And FF12 is not really far away, so you'll have to wait till 2009, sadly. And even more for final fantasy versus 13 (wich looks even better) since they are around 20% in the game.

But it's not a tragedy, it's just plain normal. So I gess the thing you wanted to know is: "can I buy other games instead of this one?", and the answer is easily yes. Like I said, it's completly impossible that FF13 will pop in 2k8, or even early 2k9. It's gonna pop at least around may 2k9 to fall 2k9. If it's the only current gen game you want, you could wait to buy your ps3 next year with the slim model that will surely pop by then, but if you want some other games, the best are popping this year (not for RPGs but for almost all other styles).

And for the expectations, it's easy, it's gonna blast! I'm a final fantasy addict and it's worst than cocaïne (I suppose). I loved FF12 but it lacked a story, lol (and what is the most important thing in a final fantasy game? story). So I suppose that, for FF13, they're gonna do their best to have a great story, and the characters are looking nice. The combat system is looking like an evolved version of ff12 combat system, wich is really great. It's gonna be fast and strategic. I just hope we'll have more control on our characters, since in FF12, with the custom AIs, I almost never touched a button (only for the 3-4 early hours). But for me, it's gonna be FFvs13 that's gonna rock. It's made by the team who made kingdom hearts and they are helped by the team who did the advent children movie, lol. So the graphics will ROCKS and the game will be really fun and special. They said it's a dark RPG too, and I love that! Anyway, we'll see next year. Cya! :D

They are also almost never late on the JP release, so if they do hold to the worldwide release, I would expect Q1 2009, probably around February to April, at the latest. It's all speculation at the moment, however, as you can't call a game delayed when there hasn't been a release date set. I expect we will find out more at Sony's show in May (I think it's May) or at E3 in July.

idk. i read somewhere that boss of SE said it would theoretically be possible for FFXIII to be released in '08 but they don't want to do it because of the next DQ.

As for my expectations? It won't be as good as VII, but it'll be better than X-2. That's my prediction. Personally, I'm going to buy it, but I think my gf will likely care for it a great deal more than I will... I haven't really connected with an FF game since VII, whereas my gf loves all of them... except X-2, which was rubbish.
