I am not so sure I "enjoyed" random battles, but I do prefer turn-based RPGs over action RPGs any day.ultima-flarei second that
Am I the only one disappointed to hear that the new Final Fantasy will be an action rpg instead of the traditional turn based? I personally enjoy the classic turn based strategy aspect of RPGs and call me crazy but I even enjoy the random encounters.mdbuchman
I never likes the FF series, so not much of a reaction from me, however, I will try the game seeing as it'll be a little diffrent from the FF norm.

ff12 is turn based.
think about it , ff 7 for example, you get a loading screen which goes into a fight ....then your little bar fills up and you are able to attack or do a magic spell or whatever. this was described as a turn based system.Â
the only difference in 12 is that there isnt a loading screen leading into the fight and you can run around during the fight (which has no bennifits). you still need to wait on the little bar filing up. therefore its turn based.
what puzzles me is how people can say that 12 isnt turn based because  IT IS.
so basically theres no point complaining about ff 12 not being turn based because it is and it even takes out the annoyences of loading screens leading into fights and actually immerses you in the world.

LOL ur Crazy!
Seriously tho I didn't mind the random encounters too much, in fact it;s a way of making sure u don't play for any great length of time hehe! But SE tend to mess with teh battel system every single game and I just wish they'd split the series into Realtime / Turn based - or include a switch as mandatory for the preferred choice of the gamer.
Ade.
FFversusXIII is supposedly an ARPG, but FFXIII still retains some of the elements of turn-based combat (like the ATB). However, the battle system will probably be quite different.Basinboy
What this guy said
FF XIII = New System with Turn Based elements
FF Versus XIII = Action RPG

true, but i did say sorta. sorry if i puzzled you a little bit =P. but i just like the loading screen of a traditional turn based where everything stops and you take turns controlling everyone. i dunno its probably just me sucking at ffxii, but i like extensively thinking about the reprocussions and predicting the reactions of what will happen if i do a certain action, meanwhile everything around you stops. iono, i guess i do suck at ffxii then lol.
