Final fantasy 8 ps3 compatible?

I know i should just try it but its buried in the loft,don't really want to go looking ifit don't work on ps3 anyway.

So any one have ff8 working on ps3 ok??

I'm not sure which version of PS3 you have, I personally have it on 60GB model.

I haven't experienced any problem with it.

i have the 120GB slim and i can't even get past the SCEE splash screen. after that screen, mine goes blank.

ff8 works, though it looks like trash on a 1080p tv using hdmi, make sure to do some tweaks turn on smoothing, turn it to normal and not full screen upscale, set your ps3 to 4:3 and 480i or p otherwise it looks insanely pixelated.

I have the launch 60Gb UK model and FFVIII doesn't work (SLES-02080), it just brings up the PS logo then nothing with all discs. It seems to depend on which product code of the game you have. I believe the Platinum edition does work up the end of disc 3, but disc 4 doesn't work so you can't actually finish it. All my other FF games work however. Still got my PS2 but it will look insanely rubbish on HDTV.

I downloaded FF8 off of the PS Store and I haven't had any problems. I'm probably like 80% done with disc 2.
