Ok so the idea for Dissidia I really liked having loads of the people from previous games against the enemies from them, I loved the game but what I would like to see is a Final Fantasy RPG with up to date graphics but gameplay style of the games from 10 and before. It would be a game where you play as some of the different characters from previous games, wherre you woulkd be against enemies from previous games. The story would be indepth unlike dissidia which was ok but was lacking a bit. I have all these ideas in my head and can;t figure out how to actually type them out. Too bad I don't know how to make a game or should i say what programme to use to make a game with graphics and length of FF 7 - 9. But I think there could be an idea there somewhere that could work for quite a good game, would just be nice to play as characters from throughout the series.

Even though I'm not really a big FF fan, a "Final Fantasy" idea I would like to see, is the actual release of "Versus 13," LOL!

I mean, the game was first announced, when, back in 2006 or something? It's release date is still to be determined, at this point.

I'd just like to see them move away from the whole After School Special level of character interactions and introduce some actual depth and maturity to the franchise. I heard that XIV A Realm Reborn is written by the same woman who did XII, and I loved the dialogue in that one, so maybe there's something to be hopeful about.

There might have been a time where I would have thought an FF game with all of the series' main characters would have been a good idea, but I think after seeing what they had to offer with Dissidia I'm turned off to the idea.

When you talk about the main characters alone, and none of the supporting party members from those games, it doesn't make for much variety. Most of FF's protagonists are young swordsmen. In any RPG, the different characters need to cover different roles in battle, or perform different roles. And while I'd prefer to see all of those game worlds clashed together into one big game - supporting characters and all - I think that would be way too many characters to play as and there might even need to be an original character or group of characters for the player to play as.

I think Kingdom Hearts did okay with merging FF characters into one world, but I don't think we'll ever see anything beyond that in scope.

It all sounds good, but in practice I'm not too sure how well it would work. To be honest I think the story would just be so jumbled with trying to include and tell the story of so many different characters that the whole thing would just turn into a disaster. A fighting game like Dissidia can have small, self-contained stories with a bit of crossover to pull it all together into one overarching plot, but that kind of system wouldn't really work all that well a full fledged RPG in my opinion.

[QUOTE="GAME-QUEST-EX"] summons would be a cool one to have, surprised they havent done that actually seem as though theyve even had chocobo games and stuff xD

12 was alright but was lacking story later in the game

have all the characters in there but not all as playable ones although that woul;d make things even harder to decide who is unplayable xD kingdom hearts did well but i feel there isnt enough final fantasy characters compared to the number of disney characters, plus should be able to fight side by side with some of the final fantasy players more, but overall have loved every kingdom hearts game apart from the first ds one

it probably would work with the amount of characters there are but then i guess you would also have the whole thing of what part of the story of each game do you use, can't have the hero cloud from after stopping meteor and then have aerith there, stuff like that would also then need to be brought into it, it would all go crazy, but would still love to see it xD

That's exactly why it WOULDN'T work. There are entirely too many characters in the series to be able to make a cohesive story including even the main character of each main game, let alone secondary characters added in to give the main characters depth. Then there's the issue of who would truly be the 'main' character of this game. If they took the approach to have no specific main character and decide to try and keep everyone level and give each character their own spotlight, then everything would be stretched so far wide it would take forever to even make a small amount of progress. Or if they go the route of choosing one character to be the main focus, who would they choose? Cloud? Tidus? Terra? Cecil? Lightning? The list goes on.

This sort of idea may have worked if there were only a few games, but with 13 main installments the series is just far too large to incorporate everything and make one true "Final" Fantasy.

oops that was supposed to say wouldnt xD and you would need a true main character and i guess it would depend on the story and looking at the characters which did best as a leader
