Im having trouble deciding, which do you all think is better?

Well, I have played both, and in my opinion, final fantasy tactics
here are my feelings for each game.
Disgaea: Funny, great music (it adds to the humor imo) loveable characters, love the prinnies.
It did feel unorganized though in my opinion, and annoying at times.
FFTA: a serious story, great music as well, great characters (but not as loveable as the disgaea characters) addicting (imo)
also, it felt a little unorganized in some areas, but not anywhere near as bad as disgaea. Bad camera angles at times too, and it is difficult at times too
its huge you can easily get 60+hrs out of it, theres afew reviews on the net about it, and wikipedia also has a topic, id go for fft but disgaea is also a great game, either way you will be happy, just deside if you want a serious srpg or a more humorous one like disgaea. Good luck.im worried that there wont be enough in final fantasy tactics.
and I cant find any info on it on the web, like gameplay and such.

Disgaea is easier to get into (since FFT doesn't have any type of tutorial whatsoever) but they're both great games. Disgaea is much funnier and more charming, while FFT has a deep story filled with political intrigue.
You really can't go wrong if you want an SRPG.

FFT does have a tutorial...
It's quite helpful for new players, even if it is very boring.
FFTA??? Umm. FFTA stands for Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Which is only available for the GBA... and from what I've been told, isn't very good.
Get FFT:WotL if you want a serious story, with a unique job leveling system. Really the only downside is that there is no new game+ feature, the story can be hard to follow and some of the battles can get hard. Also, boss battle stringed missions (point of no return) can trap you, if underleveled and don't have a world map save. Guest AI can be frustrating, as well.
Get Disgaea AoD for a light hearted story, with new game+, multiple endings, and two story modes. Story isn't all that long, but the replaybility will last, just about forever. However, you'll probably get sick of the gameplay, before unlocking every little thing in it. I know I did....
Disgaea has alot of replay value.. but imo too much replay value. McAndrew_basic
lol
and its a negative point ?
well Disgaea is one of the few games ( 2 ? or 3 ) that i spent more than 100 hours. if its in few, it means its one of the greatest fun games.
FFTactics becomes boring shortly ( compared to Disgaea ), so i say Disgaea

Would you recommend Disgaea for someone that has never played an SRPG before?
Would you recommend Disgaea for someone that has never played an SRPG before?
bigboss00
depends
lets make a quick review;
it has very nice characters, funny dialogues that make fun of many things ( power rangers one was greatest  )
its short to beat it if you want to end it ( but still you need some leveling ) and has multiple endings
it has unlimited customization and almost has no level cap, so you can play forever to upgrade your items, characters. also its very detailed in customization.
there is a dark assembly that allows get more extras ( like opening different worlds, giving a character one more counter, movement extra, items in shops etc. )
psp version has etna story extra, so its better choice and actually graphics look better on PSP due to its small screen ( its graphics are sprite based chars )
one negative point may be, it may be hard if you dont want to upgrade your items, characters.
for me its addictive in any way. its dialogues are great. gameplay is great. and at last i noticed, its musics are really good, not boring because listening them for 100+ hours makes you annoyed normally but disgaea doesnt.
also looking at dark assembly votes and seeing lvl500+ enemies and being in lvl50 makes me want to lvl up and beat them ( yea you can beat council members  )
if you like grinding, you may end up spending 100+ hours for this game

Thanks for the mini review but I was more curious if it was a good game to start to get into SRPGs?
well i played FFT, Front Mission series before Disgaea but it became my favorite
its not confusing, easy to understand, easy to get addicted to it. so yea it may be good start
FF tactics is better imo. Story and gameplay. Disgaea has a very steep learning curve.joeychew
Disgaea's learning curve isn't steep at all, and I would buy it over FFT.
FFT is a shoddy port of a great game. It lags whenever you cast a spell or summon. Disgaea on the other hand, is great
port of a great game with better graphics than the original, and extra features. In my opinion FFT isn't as interesting and
is a worse overall port then Disgaea.
