Final Fantasy VII sequel&remake - your thoughts

so...it obvious that there WILL be a sequel for PS3 coming - most likely after XIII and Versus

this is indicated by the fact that Genesis is released at the end of Dirge, so now we get to see Genesis and Clouds interactions and their even more deeper connection?

what else do u guys think the sequel will entail - bring to light, and hint at for story elements that will carry onto more sequels

and on remake...still think itll happen?

IMHO honestly id rather have the sequel first, remake after, then the next sequel(s)

as for the battle system i think they will look at the positives of Crisis Core's Versus XIII and XIII's systems, and then meld and or create a brand new one to implement in the sequel/remake

They've already made a Final Fantasy VII sequel, a prequel, an animation, and a handful of other spinoffs. It might happen, but I don't think there's anything left to do with this gameSoyUnPerdedor

If they don't make a remake, at least release it as a PS1 classic in the PSN store.

I guess we could see a remake as something big may happend at the end of the FF7 collection (in 2017)

i think that they should leave final fantasy VII alone, while it is still a good memory.

only remake it if they're sure it will live up to the original!

The only place your going to find one is on ebay for upwards of $100 as for me i found one at a K-MART going out of buisness for $15.

For me, Final Fantasy stopped being relevant by the PS2 generation. Why? Take a look at the lead characters in each Final Fantasy game before, and after the PS2. Before: real 'kick-ass' and 'manly' characters, who were legitimately tough and could have kicked your ass even at level 1. After: Tidus - one of the biggest " prison **** " lead characters in an RPG outside of Xandir from Drawn Together. Vash - um, I grew up with kids that could have torn this brat a new one. Seriously, what the **** Square? It's like ever since that guy left to go make Lost Odyssey, you've been obsessed with graphics and making the most em0 androgi-brats and girls that try to pass themselves off as guys or something. Seriously, it's time to grow a backbone, and some cojones. That said, the reason many (including myself) hold FF 7 in such high regard is because it was basically the last one with a decidedly "bad-ass" cast... or one that wasn't completely em0 out the ass! :evil:codezer0

a remake would be nice for those who didn't get a chance to experience the original. besides that.. leave the series alone. enough with the sequels. cloud against genesis? that's not even a fair fight. cloud would destroy genesis. =]

Every time SE has been asked over the past 3 friggin years, they have said there is no remake. When are people going to get the message?!

I won't ask why everyone is checking out the guys in fF games.. each their own.. I was always too busy gawking at Tifa.

But anyways, I think condensed versions of VII, VIII and IX would do very well as an all in one remake pack that you could get on a blu ray, featuring access to the original classics either on an included DVD or on PSN.

They really are great games, I would love to see them reimagined in HD, and I would look forward to it with nostalgia and excitement. I would write sentances and sentances of glee.

i will literally **** myself if they remake vii...however if they do i dont want them to touch anything but the graphics and sound...leave the story, battle system, characters, and everything else the exact same

theyve already got the story its just a matter of reprogramming
