Final Fantasy VII (The Classic)

So, not sure how many of you saw this, but Japan uploaded a digital re-release of FFVII for PS3 and PSP..I'm F-in excited and hoping that Sony realizes the profit-potential in the States with something like that..it was like the greatest FF game ever! Anyways..I'm going to be pissed if they don't..I realize that it wouldn't be the first PSOne title that got F-ed for our Coastline, but still..just wanted to rant..feedback?

So lemme get this straight...You're saying...that Sony "may not" realize that FFVII is an instant moneymaker? They haven't realized it has a great profit potential? Lol..So what you're saying is , they make all those spin offs of FFVII and haven't come to realize that they can make big bucks off of the title...You're saying that they made a whole new movie...and even redid that great movie (advent children complete) and they still haven't realized it...? They also redid the opening scene on the PS3 just for fun and they STILL haven't realized it...Man...what is wrong with sony?!?!

That's great news! I'm not that big a fan of FFVII, but I hope they bring it over here, then follow that up with FFVIII (my favorite).:D

Square Enix would be the ones at fault, not Sony. If this re-release doesn't come to the states, it would probably be because Squeenix wants to enhance port/remake the game. And charge normal game prices, instead of a $10 download.

well apparently the value of the game will not have been realized if they decide not to remake it for the PSP in America too, that's all I was saying, ya dumb dik

I'm PRETTY sure they know people want it and they know the "value" of the game.

If they are deciding to improve the port or extras, whatever...add voices...idk whatever they decide to do, it won't exactly "ruin" the game. because ify ou want the original experience, then play the original. The story doesn't change...just the graphics so i don't realy understand how the game would even be "ruined." If you say you want the original experience but don't wanna pay $100 for a new copy of the game, well..eh sucks for you. You can't have it all.

They'll make more money if they improve the graphics and whatnot...the original is just that bad and hard to play, really. I had a hard time picking it back up and got through half of the first disk before getting bored and evnetually selling it. Well...Also, it'd be nice to see what these consoles can pull off by remaking the entire game, but i don't see that happenening anytime soon, at least not a complete remake on the PS3. . . maybe just an improved port like everything else. however, they should highly concider remaking the entire game giving it a whole new look...it'll fit in with all those other spinoffs with great graphics.

Final Fantasy VII is easily one of the most overrated games of all time, and is themost overrated game IMO. I like most final fantasy games but 7 was not that great, everywhere you go everyone has a FF7 "Which character are you" or signature. Cloud was annoying, whiney, and tottaly unlikable for me. I really liked many other Final Fantasy games but this one was just "good" but combined with all its popularity I hate it.

I'd play through VII again just to laugh my ass off at the pretentious death scene that everyone takes so seriously... man was that the height of lame at the time. X definitely had it all over VII.

The only game to ever evoke an emotional response out of me to date is "Beyond Good & Evil" (aside from my still-seathing hatred of the Omega Pirate in "Metroid Prime"). The rest of it has been laughable in it's "drama". I'm hopeful for the future of the artform, but the last makes me laugh. Aeries' death was a gut-ripper. Sorry.

haha yeah I have played FF 7-10..I hated 8..7 was my favorite followed by 10..to answer GANGSTASAN's question..and I do have the GoTY or whatever it was..Playstation Classics version..how do you convert PS1 games for PSP??

I never had the opportunity to play the game when it came out, and right now I'm not willing to pay a ridiculously high price for it, so this is exactly what i've been waiting for all along. Now hopefully we do get it.

yeah no kidding..it's a rare game to find..my buddy paid like $40 for it because it was the only copy he could find around his city..

they released one yesterday in Japan..no really a remake, just digitally enhanced so it doesn't look so pixelated..but yeah, I just started this discussion because I really hope they release it for the US PSP as well..because it was such a sweet ass game

I had a copy of the PC game, but it looked disgusting, and I managed to kill the second disk. So I never managed to play the game.
